@SensoriumEmb @kneehighspy @CommodoreBlog I'm throughly confused by the phrase "emulate ROM's" in the context of C=64 / 128, since running from ROM involves just setting $1 to the appropriate bank. This ain't Nintendo!

@AnnatarTheMaia @kneehighspy @CommodoreBlog It has to be capable of emulating these reads in every 6510 CPU cycle if needed, up to ~1 million times per second.

@AnnatarTheMaia @kneehighspy @CommodoreBlog External ROMs are emulated (by the TR) via the expansion port, and requires decoding the address and placing the requested data on the bus to be read (as if it were a "real" ROM) all within about 200 nano-seconds.

@AnnatarTheMaia @kneehighspy @CommodoreBlog $1 sets the *internal* ROM banks (BASIC, Kernal, and Char) nothing really to do with external ROMs on cartridges.

@SensoriumEmb @FREEZE64UK I think my concern with it all initially is the speed of it all. It's almost like doing a drag and drop of a game into VICE, which is fine in VICE. On real hardware I'd be a bit conscious of using it though. Even soft resets too many times can cause issues.

@rwxdesigns @FREEZE64UK I'm sorry, I really don't understand your concern. It's doing the same thing every other emulation cart does, just using NFC as a trigger. It's all solid state electronics... Do you have technical data to back up your claim?

@rwxdesigns @FREEZE64UK Yes, it's not doing power cycling or anything like that, just pulling the (open collector) Reset signal low to restart/initialize as carts (and external power buttons) have done for years. :)
