Why I Absolutely HATE DEFCON I’ll admit it: at the start of the season, I thought DEFCON was a joke. “Why fix something that isn’t broken?” I told myself, while scrolling past threads full of stats about tackles, clearances, and recoveries. Fast-forward 5 GW later and… I absolutely HATE DEFCON. I hate that now I can’t switch off a boring Burnley v Forest game. I hate that instead of watching Friends rerun for the 10th time, I’m glued to the screen, praying for Esteve to stick a toe out in the 94th minute. I hate that a last-ditch block now gives me the same adrenaline rush as a Bruno or Salah pen winner. I hate that I’m cheering every recovery like it’s a goal. I hate that the match is never over until the very last clearance. I hate that the 2 points feel so small, but mean so much. I hate that 2 players hitting DEFCON in a GW tempts me into thinking I can afford a cheeky hit. I hate that 4 or 5 DEFCONs could swing my mini-league and change my entire season. But most of all… I hate that I’m in love with it. DEFCON has given FPL a new purpose, a new dimension, a reason to care about games I’d never watch otherwise. So to whoever at #FPL Tower introduced this chaos, THANK YOU. You’ve made the game more addictive, more dramatic, and way more fun than ever. #FPLCommunity
