@celine681743 @judeinlondon In your fair system, would people who earn more pay more? Shall we just have so when we get to tills we all simply scan a qr code and get charged a percentage of earnings so we all pay proportionally the same?

@judeinlondon wanting fairness isnt the same as wanting "misery", it's wanting a system that doesnt feel like punishment for whoever is working. i am not against benefits. i am against if able bodies get it without working. top-up what they earn but make sure they are working as well.

Nobody in this country knows what they want except for that thing to be equitable misery. Truly a nation of Protestants.

@GaytriotGannon @judeinlondon I can afford them if I dont work though, right? just sit at home as a single mum and everything will be okay. the problem is i am working very hard to fund those who just want to pop out children.

I can't imagine having the sort of attitude where, because of inadequate pay due to pay not keeping up for decades, that I would resent or begrudge a disabled person or child enjoying a day out. That really is awful selfishness.

@RemoteHusband @john_ford77 @THemingford So argue for better wages, not less discounts for people on benefits. If they take discounts away they won't get extra customers will they in fact prices would have to rise to cope with the loss of footfall and monies spent on food/drink souvenirs..

@SingleDadTravel @john_ford77 @THemingford No, I know what I’m arguing. You’ve moved the argument from entitled to a day out, to food discounts to business losing money, to the value of UC. My argument has always been attractions are not affordable for those not on UC and I have tried to give examples of why that might be

@SingleDadTravel @john_ford77 @THemingford As we’re discussing, I think the model used (and I’m just talking about attractions now and no issue with discount principle) is based on assuming certain level of income is considered ‘good’ but what is considered theoretically good is no longer good in reality.

@RemoteHusband @john_ford77 @THemingford Id rather have discount for Iceland than the tower of london 👌 but point is businesses make decisions that suit them so why you complaining. Why do pensioners need a weekly discount at b&q?

@SingleDadTravel @john_ford77 @THemingford It’s not about jealousy it’s about percentage level of income needed to take kids out. The difference in cost of some attractions is over 2000%. For affordability levels to be the same ie percentage of income, someone working would need to bring in around £40k per month.

@RemoteHusband @john_ford77 @THemingford Do you moan about oap's having discounts, do you complain to iceland and b&q who give discounts for older people? Cos personally id rather have a discount in Iceland to do shopping than a tower in london i won't ever go in.

@SingleDadTravel @john_ford77 @THemingford The media highlighted it. And now it looks like people are saying it’s a problem. But this is an issue with attractions who if they want to attract more visitors maybe need to look at three tier pricing, with a local cost as well as UC?

@RemoteHusband @john_ford77 @THemingford Has to be a cut off point of somewhere and surely people on benefits earn less than people working.. This discount has been available for years now, its only just became a problem because the media told you its a problem 👍 imagine having a job but being jealous of benefits

@SingleDadTravel @john_ford77 @THemingford And again playing devils advocate, those that aren’t on UC (and aren’t super rich) can’t afford to go at the current price. So loss of visitors is still happening, it’s just who can’t afford to go 🤷‍♀️. Must be a better way somehow that means everyone can take kids out.

@DaveFinchMMA @Sargon_of_Akkad @washingtonpost If you were actually a single parent with 3 kids and a full time carer for your disabled mother, im sure your life would be different 👌 but your that happy you're on x arguing with me because i said im busy with my kids 😂

@SingleDadTravel @Sargon_of_Akkad @washingtonpost Its. Ot othe people looking after the kids, they run outstanding clubs, like tennis or badminton, gym clubs, gymnastics, all sorts, no different to sending your kids to football practice. And being a kids coach myself, there is nothing more irritating

A new trend called “boy kibble” has emerged, inspired by dog food, featuring protein-rich meals popular with Gen Z men. Ground beef can be a solid starting point for a quick, nutritious meal. Here are some of our favorite recipes using it: wapo.st/4tB9QK2

@SingleDadTravel @Sargon_of_Akkad @washingtonpost We have a fantastic relationship but life will always be harder when you have to mix work, childcare, everything else and finding time to spend together. Luckily a nice David Lloyd spa membership gives us time to relax while the kids do clubs 😁

@RemoteHusband @john_ford77 @THemingford But then loss of visitors would mean having to charge more or closing 🙄 if i take my 3 kids out to that attraction they will all want feeding, all want souvenirs so not exactly a cheap day out just a bit cheaper so i can actually take them 👌

@SingleDadTravel @john_ford77 @THemingford Ok let’s play devils advocate - attractions need to bring in £X income per day which equates to £Y cost per person. What sees to be happening is those on UC pay less than £Y and those not on UC pay more than £Y to make it up. So yes, only having to pay £Y would make a difference.

@DrNeilStone What happened to all the sports stars who were having heart attacks on live TV on almost a daily basis during the vaccine roll out... How come we don't see it happening now and didn't really see it happen before..

@DaveFinchMMA @Sargon_of_Akkad @washingtonpost 2 people make all the difference 👌 if i had any support to look after my kids things would be different. Imagine trying to compare lifestyles with someone who is an actual single parent with 3 kids and a full time carer, to you and your partner 😂

@SingleDadTravel @Sargon_of_Akkad @washingtonpost Planning. We have 5 between me and my girlfriend, primary school age the youngest, off to uni the oldest, 4 different locations for school/college. She’s a full time midwife, I have a gym, i’m a ref, I do PT’s, train myself and work a 50 hour a week day job, yet we find time
