In 2010, she organised Ed Miliband’s successful leadership bid. In 2015, Lucy was part of the new @LabourTogether consortium funded by Trevor Chinn and run by Morgan McSweeney with the principal aim of removing Jeremy Corbyn as leader. Lucy was in the thick of the plots, coups and leadership bids aimed at ending Corbyn’s leadership. In the film Oh Jeremy Corbyn: The Big Lie there is a scene showing Lucy on the night of the 2017 election clearly surprised that Corbyn had done well. The Right Honourable Lucy Powell is now the Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Council. Unfortunately, Lucy’s language doesn’t always reflect her exalted position.
