$FNCH is down today on filing Chapter 11. But they only have one employee and trial costs are de minimis at this point as it just depends on the judges ruling, afaict. The biggest overhang for Finch has been a multi year lease they signed while they were still fully operational — my read is this is more about the lease and renegotiation or breaking it than anything else (eg I see nothing on PACER)

@ypunj @Steven_Kiel They filed chapter 11 in Delaware to get out of the lease. I don't know enough to understand what that means but it is being sold on that news.

I have so many questions with today's trading action. How can 100K shares of a free float of 480K have traded hands without the stock moving up considerably? Why is this happening now? Who is selling/buying? $FNCH

@Mike10947310 So it is SOP but it (i) also shows Ferring is afraid of losing the next ruling and shows strong commitment to appeal to drag this out (they have time and cash, Finch doesn't). (ii) might be a way to get $FNCH back to negotiation table for a settlement, otherwise goes until 2027.

@OsborneCoggs There are a lot of different ways to speculate about this, some are okay, some are bad. Not entirely sure I see a good reason to do this right now though if they will be cash flowing in a couple of months.

If I knew nothing about the stock and just saw the chart, I would lean towards it being a sell since the stock is up like 70% off the bottom, could be profit taking. Just odd that it hit mid-day.

@FriendlyCapMgmt It's mostly been trading with the larger energy sector for a few weeks now, albeit with a higher beta as one should expect for a prerevenue company. Check out OXY though, similar looking chart until today. I agree about today though, relative weakness. See if it becomes a trend.

It feels as if it should be trading at least 5 bucks higher if my long thesis is in fact correct. Instead it‘s still ca 35% off from February highs. I can‘t help but feel something does not smell right and I am somehow wrong being so long

@WishyWishing @JasonStrom84409 This seems like the biggest hurdle all of the sudden since it sounds like the AG can request another TRO here and the Water Board at least seems more competent than CCC. Problem is we've only heard their side of the story so far so no idea on the validity.

@JasonStrom84409 I'm still trying to understand the Fire Marshal vs other agencies. So the Fire Marshal can approve the restart without agencies approval but they make it sound like other agencies (outside of the FMs jurisdiction) can hold up the restart separately?

@WishyWishing @OsborneCoggs @JasonStrom84409 I could be wrong but I believe the immediate repairs for restart do not technically need the easement. My conjecture is the easement would make things easier long term so they are going through the process. But if this process takes too long, they will do repairs without it.

@OsborneCoggs @JasonStrom84409 Hydrotesting has started on specific segments of the pipeline. This was confirmed by the Fire Marshal's presentation in Santa Barbara. Sable is targeting a restart in May. One final four mile stretch of pipe needs an easement from State Parks, and has not been started.
