I am sorry to hear that former Fort Bend County Sheriff Milton Wright passed tonight. Prior to serving as Sheriff, Wright served our State as a Texas Ranger. I thank him for his service to our community. I always enjoyed our conversations. He will be missed.

It is with profound sadness and deep sympathy that we announce the loss of a @HCSOTexas deputy. Please join us in praying for the loved ones and friends of our deputy, who was killed in an off-duty traffic collision early this morning at the 23000 Aldine Westfield/Ciderwood. Pct 4 deputies are handling the investigation.
Always a pleasure to meet with our great Texas Sheriffs. We discussed critical challenges facing law enforcement. The Lone Star State stands with our men and women in blue. Keeping Texans safe is a top priority, and I’ll keep fighting to ensure law enforcement has the resources they need to protect our communities. 🇺🇸

Arrest update: On 9/4/25, Marine Veteran Quoc “Jake” Nguyen (28) was found deceased on the side of the road (13700 blk of Lakewood Forest) after being shot. Jake worked as a rideshare driver to support his family. The suspects allegedly shot Jake, took his belongings, vehicle, and fled the scene. Three teens have been arrested and charged in connection with Jake’s murder: 1)-teen male, 15 years of age, charged with Capital Murder. Arrested by our Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) on 10/9/25. 2)-teen male, 14 years of age, charged with Tampering with Evidence. Arrested by VCAT on 10/16/25. 3)-teen male, 13 years of age, charged with Tampering with Evidence. Arrested by VCAT on 10/16/25. All three were booked in the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center. Tragic and senseless. Our condolences go out to Jake’s friends and family. Outstanding work by @HCSOTexas Detectives, VCAT, and all team members involved. #HouNews
