@SpeakSarahSpeak No, it isn’t and it will continue to subvert research funds for decades. Physicist @skdh debunked the hype youtu.be/ZbzcYQVrTxQ Consider the yield was less than 1% of what it took to *charge* the laser. Love the BBC’s “enough to boil 15 kettles”. Many less costly alts
Giving this another push - my new podcast, Macrodose, is up and running - 15 mins every Wednesday on the top economics stories & why they're happening. This week, gloomy forecasts, austerity 2.0, and why the wage-price spiral is a bit of a myth... patreon.com/macrodose
.@mymac#914, the one where @gazmaz tortures @Macparrot and himself with Background Sounds. ( Don’t tell them - Settings>Accessibility>Audio/Visual>Background Sounds ) Or hold the Ear in Control Centre…
@nibsuk are just pushing the upsell with TV & Thread. All current TVs support Thread as do HomePod Minis and all my lightbulbs, so clearly it’s not a hardware limitation
@charlesarthur Interesting to note he suggested this could have been achieved with the use of a “pig” robot no doubt making it look like an internal explosion rather than an externally triggered one
@charlesarthur Re Overspill Nord Stream - expert on Deutsch Welle suggests that it gets Gazprom/Russia off the hook for failing to deliver agreed quantities of gas arguing force majeuer avoiding penalties
Good ep @MacAndForth but you’re all overthinking this satellite tracking thing. Ancient civilisations predicted the state of the Moon, Apple just contract with one satellite provider and together with GPS a database of their satellites would be all that’s needed, like the ISS app
@RippleEnergy@CornwallInsight@SpeakSarahSpeak Both this and Jamie’s recent video aren’t showing up on your YT channel - could this be because they are marked as “unlisted”? Play fine from the links you post but are showing up in the channel?
Energy prices are still skyrocketing - @CornwallInsight have predicted Oct price cap could hit £3,244
We're so pleased our members are seeing bill savings at a time when it's needed the most
@SpeakSarahSpeak explains how higher prices = higher savings👇

@helenczerski@FullyChargedShw I trust you asked about the Q9(total) produced not simply the Q(plasma)?
See @skdh VERY enlightening explanation as to why fusion is unlikely to yield sufficient benefits youtu.be/LJ4W1g-6JiY
Commercial fusion energy... still not here, but there is LOTS of work going on and lots of progress being made. Is it still 30 years away? I went along to Tokamak Energy for @FullyChargedShw to find out the latest: youtu.be/QjyR3kJvLTA
@john_actuary Don’t understand why people still sign up to 12+ month contracts. Move yr # to iD Mobile which is errr Three. Monthly contract and data easily changed even monthly if you wish. Much less ££ and free roaming still. Smarty also Three and probably even ^ data HTH
...turn the page, and buried at the bottom of an otherwise empty page, I find out that I can retain free roaming if I stay on my current contract, else it's £2 a day in Europe, £5 outside.
Three couldn't have made that less clear if they had tried. Oh, maybe they did...
2/2
My SIM only contract with Three is expiring. They've offered me a reduction of over £2pm to stay at my same data limit.
There can't be any catch, can there?
But wait a moment...

@charlesarthur@TheOverspill Interesting point on surveillance in #1826 but NB new iPhones go into AirTag mode when switched off so theoretically traceable?
Available on all platforms, my latest podcast discusses why so many batteries are being installed in the UK, and Dave sings a great battery themed song! anchor.fm/renewableenergy
