💢 Iranian state-linked media published photos Saturday showing a heavily damaged U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook helicopter at an airbase in Kuwait, claiming it was struck by an Iranian drone.
Iran’s Mehr News Agency said the aircraft was involved in the search and rescue operation for the missing crew member of a downed U.S. F-15E. The U.S. has not confirmed the strike on the Chinook or its involvement in the operation.
If confirmed, it would mark a significant achievement for Iran. The CH-47, a heavy-lift transport capable of carrying 55 troops or 26,000 pounds of cargo, costs roughly $38 million per aircraft.

@hallerite you're right, running gemma 4 on llama.cpp CPU better speed on CPU than GPU (6 vs 1.5 tok/s) in VRAM restricted scenario. I remember long time ago @ggerganov said all you need is CPU for inference, I think he saw it early

Frens, the reason I am saying this is that the flash attention kernels we have do not support head dim > 256 & Gemma4 is the first serious model that has head dim 512 in some layers. It makes total sense, of course, if you don't train on NVIDIA GPUs to begin with.

NSA Bahrain is (was) the headquarters of the U.S. 5th Fleet. It was struck multiple times on 28 February, the opening day of Operation Epic Fury, and several times afterwards. Satellite imagery confirmed at least seven structures destroyed in the first week alone, including communications infrastructure and warehouses. Sailors are arriving in Norfolk with what fit in a backpack. Community groups were called in to provide basic toiletries. #OSINT #OperationEpicFury
