How would you even get 40..? I learned PADMA like 7 months ago, and I instantly knew this... (My school was awful and didn't teach it. Not all public schools are decent.) 8+8+8×8+8×0 8×8=64 8×0=0 16+64=80 (The number 0 doesn't exist; it fills in for the abject of nothing. Therefore, the equation doesn't need to show 0; if you did, it would be 8+8+64+0, which is still summarized by 16+64 since 8+8=16 and 0 always equals and represents nothing. So it's not required in a summarized answer.)
