The Iranian dictatorship’s cruel barbarism was on display again at dawn today when 2 more pro democracy advocates were executed by the regime. Since Monday, 6 political prisoners and one 18-year-old protestor, have been executed. This follows the execution last week of 3 other protestors.  @YvetteCooperMP should urgently make a public statement condemning these executions, paying respect to the unimaginable bravery of courageous Iranians who have sacrificed their lives for freedom. Their heroism and that of thousands of others murdered by the regime must be the lode star guiding Iran’s future - a future based on democracy, the rule of law, protection of minorities and universal human rights: a future which must be shaped and determined by Iranians. @BobBlackman @JimShannonMP @HoAbedini @LiamFox @NualaLoan See x.com/i/status/20397…

The Iranian authorities are shamelessly encouraging children as young as 12 to join an IRGC run military campaign, putting them in grave danger and violating international law, which prohibits the recruitment and use of children in the military. Child soldier recruitment is a war crime. Iranian authorities must immediately stop their criminal assault on children’s rights and prohibit the recruitment of anyone under 18 by the armed forces. In addition, today Iranian authorities have arbitrarily executed teenage protester Amirhossein Hatami. The execution of five protesters and dissidents in three days this week is extremely alarming and once again exposes Iran's judiciary for what it is: a tool of repression sending individuals to the gallows to spread fear and exacting revenge on those demanding fundamental political change. All war crimes must be investigated. Those responsible must be held to account

Today Council approved the immediate cessation of raising national flags of countries other than Canada on the city flagpole originally intended for charities and associations. Our citizens come from all over the world, leaving conflicts to become Canadians. We welcome all. Come to City Hall with proof of Mississauga address and pick up a free, full sized Canadian flag!
