@boredtweeple @buggirl Son, he's good for the tens of thousands or more people that have jobs because of him and the hundreds of millions who benefit from what he produces. You're just envious.

For the idiots justifying Elon and his Trillions although I accept more than 60% are AI bots owned by Elon. Elon is asset rich and cash poor (so called) because this is the way to avoid paying tax not from some innate goodness. One Trillion owned by an individual through some companies is good for him and maybe a few thousand rich people, same money spent on hunger, education will lead to over 30x multiplication of wealth benefitting millions almost eradicating hunger atleast for a few decades possibly forever. Poor defending Elon (not bots and not paid accounts) are like self harmers. There is no logical. Moral or economic rational for this obscenity. Wealth leads to more wealth he has started experimenting in US and UK but will soon be the king of earth and all of us will be his slaves. The plan is not to occupy Mars but to occupy earth.

Folks definitely making clear in the nature of their comments why the striking of all black jurors, in addition to the other issues, was a problem for due process.

I have not yet read the full trial transcript. But so far, I do know this. Karmelo Anthony was entitled to a jury of his peers. He did not get that. On that ground alone, he is entitled to a new trial. Minorities are not interchangeable. The prosecutor’s reported proffered reasons for striking all black jurors —that they were teachers—appears to be pretext. Anthony needs a new lawyer on appeal and in a new trial. His trial lawyer allowed in opinion evidence that should have been struck. He also seemed unable to appreciate and counter the impact of racial overtones in that case. Those overtones are clear even on Twitter commentary as folks seek to paint Metcalf as having no culpability in what happened and Karmelo as a complete monster. The facts on how the matter escalated are more complicated than that. He and they had no such authority. They are also apparent in the statements that seek to deputize Metcalf and other kids with authority to remove Anthony. They had none and initiated the conflict. That does not mean they should have been killed but it means they have explaining to do. The lawyer for Anthony apparently did not require that explaining. It is fair to ask how the Anthony’s ended up selecting that lawyer. The trial judge must be disqualified in any new trial if he actually gave an interview about the case before the appeal was considered. He has negatively affected the appeal rights of the defendant. He should know better. He should also be disqualified if he has any relationship with the Metcalf side. In a criminal trial, the prosecution has the burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. The defendant does not have to prove he is not guilty. Those rules apply to everyone. They apply to Anthony.

"All of us are migrants," he proclaims. Everything he says about illegal immigration is from a Leftist framing, using Leftist rhetoric. Never once does he talk about or promote the rule of law, justice, borders/boundaries/nations as established by God. Never once does he demand these people stay in their homeland to correct the problems they contributed to. Never once does he speak out on the ills of coveting what other people built or condemn their ingratitude. Perhaps he could be more respected if he didn't regurgitate gay race communist talking points at every opportunity. But of course, that won't help fill the coffers in Rome, will it?

Pope Leo's views on immigration should be completely non-controversial. He says he is against open borders. Countries have a right to decide who enters. Mass immigration is a problem to be solved. People should stay in their own countries. But that if people do come, they should be treated like human beings with dignity. He also says if they come, they should learn the language and respect the laws. But because people's brains are broken by American politics they cannot understand this nuance.

@lyndseyfifield Genuinely curious how, as a domestic abuse survivor, you could've been so callous towards Christine Blasey Ford? Whether she was right about Kavanaugh or not, she was obviously suffering from a past trauma.

This week I've heard from dozens of women who have been victims of domestic violence. Many have remarked not just how much they relate to my story overall but how they, too, once qualified their abuse in the same way I did in my interview with the Times: Clarifying that Graham didn't break my arm, didn't ever punch or slap me. I didn't realize that was what I was doing—I just didn't want to exaggerate. If anything I wanted to downplay his violence and the deep, lasting impact it has had on my life. I also have felt I need to be clear that I was never, ever antagonistic, never picked a fight, and took great pains to try to keep him from becoming enraged. My friends have pointed out that that's not normal. I shouldn't feel the need to insist to the public that I didn't do anything to deserve or provoke physical intimidation, control, or abuse. No one does. I forgave Graham years ago and was glad to see that he had gotten sober and seemingly had gotten help for his mental health issues—I sincerely wished him well but when I realized I was not the only woman he had done this to, that he has a lifelong pattern of deep contempt for women, I realized he had suckered me once again. And instead of support for coming forward, Jenny and I have been met with horrific smears, told it was “karma,” or that it wasn’t “that bad.” So... yeah, that is actually pretty classic.
Curtis Houck@CurtisHouck

WATCH: New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor – who wrote many of the #MeToo stories – DEFENDS Graham Platner and DISMISSES the allegations against him by @LyndseyFifield and other ex-girlfriends because they were not “abuse” and women saying they just “did not like what” they saw from him... “Well, let’s talk about what they may or may not be willing to overlook the accusations against Graham Platner are not classic MeToo accusations. They’re not about a boss and a young female employee being subjected to sexual advances. They’re — they were mostly made in the context of consensual relationships. There are these, like, very sensational texts about sex. There are allegations from former girlfriends that are not — the way my colleagues reported them were not like classic abuse allegations. They were mostly like being his boyfriend gave me a view into him and I did not like what I saw. His character was scary. He had this Nazi tattoo. Et cetera.” “There was one allegation of crossing a line physically, but I think that means that these are pretty different accusations than, say, the one that — the ones that President Trump faced. And, of course, in the Access Hollywood tape, President Trump bragged about grabbing women against their will. And so I think it speaks to the kind of confusion of the long post MeToo moment in which, like, gender related accusations get bundled together. But they’re actually very different.”

@NathanJRobinson @RockChartrand I don't know what Musk does in charity. Neither do you. But he develops new technologies, some of which are directed toward helping the disabled, and others propel us into space. I also know what I do to help others directly. Care to share what you do?

@RockChartrand I agree it's about scale. The more capacity you have to help people the more responsibility you have to do it. It has nothing to do with whether you created value in the process but with the lives you could save but choose not to.

Gut wrenching to see four young people jailed for direct action against an arms supplier to Israel. Years in prison for protesting to save lives in Gaza, with 'terrorism' used despite no jury convicting them of it. A truly dangerous attack on the right to protest.

@rigor_mortis42 @Brick_Cop @ZackPolanski Perhaps not letting a weapons factory supplying drones to a nation actively engaged in war crimes to operate on British soil would have spared that poor officer’s injury… & 100’s perhaps 1000’s of children in Palestine’s from maiming/death. Do you have any sense of perspective?

@rigor_mortis42 @Brick_Cop @ZackPolanski … all of which can be justified in the event that a jury finds these crimes were committed to prevent a greater crime. You seem determined to pretend that there is never any legitimate defence to a crime… that is either ignorance or an act of deliberate cruelty - you pick 🤷🤫
