We were proud to welcome @SenAmyKlobuchar to our Nashwauk site to see our progress firsthand. “Projects like Mesabi Metallics are critical to boosting Minnesota’s economy for the long term and to strengthening America’s domestic supply chains,” said Senator Klobuchar.

I met with workers and local leaders at Mesabi Metallics in Nashwauk — in a few months, it will become the first taconite mine to open in Minnesota in nearly 50 years. This is good news for the Iron Range, creating good-paying union jobs and new opportunities for working families. Thanks to the Operating Engineers, Steelworkers, LIUNA, Ironworkers, Iron Range Building Trades, Tribal leaders, and mayors including Pete Hyduke of Hibbing and Greg Heybloom of Nashwauk & Ida Rukavina (my former staffer) of the IRRRB.

The youth aren’t staying. They are choosing college elsewhere which makes it more challenging to get them back to MN. Good insight from @mn_chamber

In case you have forgotten, there are zero dietary rules during a snowstorm. Cake for breakfast is permitted and indeed encouraged.

Alex Pretti, the man killed by federal agents today in Minneapolis. appears to have been a registered nurse, an athlete, a son and a brother, with ties to Colorado and Wisconsin. Here is a photo he used for several accounts.

BREAKING: MN U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar filed paperwork today to create a campaign committee to run for governor in 2026. A source close to the senator tells me: “This is a preliminary step necessary for any candidate considering a run.” A formal announcement to happen soon. @KSTP
