🧵 I read how the new X algorithm actually works so you don’t have to, now that X went open source with the code. If you’re posting crypto, raiding, or building a community — this thread will save you months of wasted effort. Here are 9 rules you must understand to win on X 👇 1/ Time-on-post is KING X doesn’t care about quick likes. It cares how long people stop scrolling and read a post. Threads, charts, breakdowns, and real alpha outperform memes and one-liners every time. If people don’t read → you don’t get reach. 2/ Spamming destroys reach There’s an author diversity penalty. Once you appear in someone’s feed, your next post that day is less likely to show. 5 mid posts = worse than 1 strong post. Quality > quantity (by a lot). 3/ Engagement trains your feed Your timeline is based on the last ~128 posts you engaged with. Raiders: Stop liking trash. Stop replying to garbage. You’re teaching the algo what to show you. 4/ Toxic raids backfire Attacking, insulting, and brigading gets flagged. X is actively downranking toxic behavior — even if it gets replies. Debate > insults Conviction > arrogance Signal > noise 5/ Copy-paste raids are detectable Same reply. Same meme. Same CTA. That’s spam. If you raid: • Add an opinion • Ask a question • Paraphrase Conversation beats scripts every time. 6/ Followers don’t matter Dead metric. You can have 100 followers and go viral. You can have 100k and flop. The algo only cares about value + engagement quality. 7/ Every post gets scored X assigns a performance score: ➕ Likes, reposts, thoughtful replies, read time ➖ Mutes, blocks, “show less” Engagement farming that annoys people hurts you long-term. 8/ Reply guys win in crypto Crypto lives in conversations. The fastest growth strategy: • Early replies on big accounts • Smart takes, not emojis • Add value, don’t beg for likes Small accounts win here. 9/ The real meta (this matters most) You can’t game X anymore. If your goal is engagement → you lose. If your goal is value + conversation → you win. Crypto that educates, debates, and builds culture always outperforms hype. TL;DR • Post less, say more • Kill toxic raids • Train the algo intentionally • Optimize for conversation, not impressions Raise the signal. Raise the IQ of the timeline. The algo will reward you.
