@whosgenrul im not shitting all over Martinelli but point is he decided to press CB deep into opposition half and left player completely free while he was shouted at to take care of O'Reilly and just ignored it, it was simplest playing out from GK you can imagine so clearly a mistake
English

Dk how to explain it but we're the only fanbase in the world that can blame a loss on an attacker losing his man 20 seconds before the actual goal, we've been conditioned by Arteta to expect wingers to defend like actual defenders as if that's their job
AFTV@AFTVMedia
1️⃣ Odegaard pointed to Nico O'Reilly, asking him to be marked by Martinelli. 2️⃣ Martinelli ignored and left Nico O'Reilly open, leading to Arsenal conceding the winning goal. Martin Odegaard obviously very frustrated. Say whatever you want, Odegaard deserves every bit to be our captain. Outstanding vision.
English

@NickeyAFC @Rory_Talks_Ball i dont think its as simple as that but thats opinion, there is a reason Xavi wanted him at Barcelona and Madrid really pushed for him last summer, obviously some players have tools to succeed but just never do for one reason or another..
Rodri started slowly at City too btw
English

@YulyMuN @Rory_Talks_Ball Comparing our midfield to Spains midfield is not relevant. Put anyone with some decent ability and they would look amazing in that Spain midfield
English

@NickeyAFC @Rory_Talks_Ball he can because he is doing it for Spain and had great games for us there aswell, his issue is running away from his position when he should stay there to distribute passes just like Rodri does..he wants to influence attack too much for a player we want him to be, hope he develops
English

@YulyMuN @Rory_Talks_Ball Rice isn’t Rodri, but he bossed PSG midfield on his own in the 6 last year. We know he can do it, we know Zubi can’t do 6 or 8
English

@NickeyAFC @Rory_Talks_Ball i think Arteta would like Zubi to be Arsenal version of Rodri but at the moment he is nowhere near it, guy fell off big time second part of this season, need him to step up
Rice is not Bernardo and definitely not Rodri, he is unicorn, very versatile, City don't have Rice profile
English

@YulyMuN @Rory_Talks_Ball I don’t see a world where Rice and Ode couldn’t do the same if not better than Rodri and silva. Similiar profiles, Similiar abilities. Problem is Zubi
English

@GoonerEG certain section of fan base to begin with
then individuals not stepping up to make something happen in fine margins games or
collective struggle to execute game plan due to technical insecurity that might stem from psychological issues like pressure
also sometimes unlucky..
English

@EBL2017 isnt it little bit premature talk about Zubimendi? surely there is player there, he has strong spot in Spain squad and we all seen what he can do
Rodri also did not have amazing first season for City but that being said i would definitely love to have Sandro Tonali at Arsenal
English

Zubimendi is great but Arsenal need him to start superseding tactics with pass volume and technical security.
Less attacking the box from deep and picking up spaces between the lines.
More dropping into the first line and playing in the #6 and taking the ball like Rodri does 👇

English

@JOSEPH_dopeguy probably Trossard or Jesus, both great for us before but Leo fell off massively second half of the season and due to his age i would move him on, Jesus ruined by injuries
also maybe Calafiori? great player but his fitness issues since we signed him are ridiculous
English

@zk_afc because this level requires certain personel to have that balance on the pitch, people shitting all over Odegaard for 2 seasons yet he he is reason we did anything in that game.. him and Saka been out big chunks of this season same for Havertz, without him our gameplan wont work
English

@TheArsenalMind it comes down to how you consume football
i dont think we will find better than him, he aint perfect but no one is.. you get rid of him or "force" him out to get who? we start new process, players get sold, new have to come in, cycle repeats and it might work OR backfire big time
English

@subliminaIIy they probably had more flops but firstly no one gives a fuck about PSG with their endless resources to buy players... secondly these state owned clubs are shameless, those who know just know
English

@A_Jaywalker @pedroelchileno @LyesBouzidi10 ye but he wont get rated for that, it goes down as GK error
English

@BallProgression we knew this XI exists but Odegaard is really important for it to work as much as it did today... but he was mostly out during this season, also having Saka in there instead of Martinelli or Madueke would do us alot of good
English

@pedroelchileno @LyesBouzidi10 ye but Haaland scored so to average twitter user one is rubbish Chelsea reject for 65m and other one is machine
English

@LyesBouzidi10 Weird tweet when Havertz had a better match than Haaland.
English

@InsideArsenal89 i think we do, it will be close but we made it difficult for ourselfs so now we need to fight for every point or even a goal but this season has to be the one, im confident that if we keep our players fit and others come back we will go 5/5
English

@AbuTarek373517 @inHighburyN5 Madueke had bad game but still more reliable OOP than Max while providing same good 1 on 1 qualities on his day.. however he had bad half so rightfully taken off for another very reliable Martinelli who ironicaly left O´Reilly in acres of space for second goal.. not manager fault
English

@YulyMuN @inHighburyN5 We have to be brave. what did martinelli and madueke do as RW today?
English

@JamesB_afc i think its countreproductive because whats the point of pressing if you dont look after the ball ? Odegaard pointed at O´Reilly beforehand and Martinelli ignored him ?
second point fairs but we also play biggest game possible in the worst moment of our season form wise i guess
English

Some things I’ve seen that I wanna push back on:
- Martinelli not tracking O’Reilly isn’t a huge error as much as it leads to a goal
- Today’s win was defining, more so than the other bad results this season. Because City have also had shit results, but they beat us when it matters, and we never return the favour
- Missing chances matters, we don’t create many but you’re still rightly scrutinised when the really big ones come and go
