The new $TAO proposal it is certainly moving in the right direction of providing the foundation for an economy of intelligence that is rewarded or punished based on its performance to the protocol.
Today staking incentive is purely made from the APY it returns. Not risk free but fairly simple and accessible to every holder. TAO risk. 89% of supply is staked, a fact that everyone has been proudly talking about.
Tomorrow staking incentive is based on the real value it provides to the protocol but requires more diligence and trust in the performance of the underlying subnet asset. SN token + TAO risk. Will staking participation be the same?
What must be thought before anything moves forward and a challenge to the minds of @opentensor and @const_reborn, if in the new economy participation is required to provide accountability and trust, how will it work if users participate less? Can it be easily manipulated then?
Can a solution be created that doesn’t impose staking slashing to participate?
