@MarstonConnell @mitsuhiko @lucasmeijer > cumbersome and sucks working cross language
I'd say this applies to pretty much all tooling tbh
English

@alienmadev @mitsuhiko @lucasmeijer Never said it's not "good". But the tooling for it is cumbersome and sucks working cross language. Like all tools it has its place and I think it's overused
English

@MarstonConnell @mitsuhiko @lucasmeijer why do you think its not "good", also do you think we would use it if its not "good"?
English

@mitsuhiko @lucasmeijer proto is heavily used in Go ecosystem and tooling is good

@OliverOtis00 @muheediva01 You guys have so few children that you forgot how children are the part of the society and you as an adult should understand this. You need to travel to some countries where theres lots of children and will see how adults accept that babies can be loud sometimes
English

@muheediva01 This is true and good to an extent. If you are in a public place and the baby starts crying/screaming you have a social responsibility to remove the child until it is calm again. It is not acceptable to be disruptive in public whether you are a baby or an adult.
English

Take your babies everywhere. Restaurants, errands. Anywhere. Try not to stress if they cry, laugh loud, or babble. That’s what babies do. My son goes wherever I go. I’m not raising him to be silent in public. If people stare or get annoyed, they better stay in their lane.
Your baby belongs in the world just like anyone else. Normalize babies in public spaces. You're not a bother you’re parenting.

@Yuldashev_here yup, lets judge historical people with current rules and norms

People don’t wanna believe Bun is really faster than Go, always bet on js
Drizzle ORM@DrizzleORM
Drizzle v1.0.0-rc.1 is out 🚀 ▪︎ Effect v4 native support ▪︎ JIT row mappers to reduce ORM overhead to ~0 ▪︎ Reworked casing API (breaking change) ▪︎ Drizzle for LLM agents (preview) Drizzle is now as fast as using raw driver and mapping(or not mapping) results by hand 🙃

@heyandras Docker. It just feels so clunky and unoptimized, especially for Mac. Just need a simple way to run containerized apps

@embersunn They might be your cloud manager, but you definitely seem like a sea, beach and sky manager.

@alienmadev @HSVSphere @samlambert @0xblacklight Sure that's fine, but I don't seem to be the only one with this opinion that GitLab feels slow and ugly. Sam and some of the other engineers I've seen comment about this are not exactly sheep.
It's not exactly Linear but neither is GH ofc
English

@alienmadev @HSVSphere @samlambert @0xblacklight Yes I've used it extensively at past jobs, it's ass. I don't like GitHub but GitLab made it seem good in comparison.
English

@IdlePaladin @HSVSphere @samlambert @0xblacklight Because gitlab doesnt really care about individual users, most enterprises use Gitlab, and once you start using Gitlab you wont be able to take Github seriously
English

@HSVSphere @samlambert @0xblacklight Its neither slow nor ugly, its much better than microslop product lol.

@0ximjosh @PlanetScale the corp is too huge & slow to carry our a migration this big and tech leaders dont really know about Planetscale, when I told them about PS they said that after migration the cost for DBs would increase because of egress, which is not true haha
English

Imagine paying additional fees just to be able to see your DB’s slow queries lol, it is the case for AWS RDS instances. I wish we could move off to @PlanetScale
