Amnesty is a free pass. It is what exists now. With the DIGNITY Act, you come forward, you face the law, you pass background checks, you pay what you owe, and you earn your place or you get deported. Criminals? Gone. 
American workers? Protected. Our national security depends on it. Our economy demands it. Our communities need it. And yes, our faith calls us to do this the right way, with order and accountability. That’s enforcement. That’s DIGNITY. Calling this amnesty is a lie that keeps a broken system alive and Americans paying the price.

Reminder that Maria Salazar's amnesty bill includes a provision that prevents allegations of gang membership in state or federal databases from being use to determine whether or not someone is in a gang for amnesty purposes

I want to focus on one particularly brazen provision in Maria Salazar's amnesty bill. She made a huge point of saying "gang members won't be admissible!" And, indeed, there is a provision that says if you "voluntarily participated in offenses committed by a criminal street gang" you will be ineligible for either the Dreamer path to citizenship or the adult path to permanent residency. But in THE VERY NEXT PROVISION, the legislation bars DHS from using state and federal databases to prove that someone is a gang member. Apparently, they have to actually get convicted of a criminal gang offense - WHICH WOULD ALREADY MAKE THEM INADMISSIBLE BECAUSE FELONIES AND VIOLENT MISDEMEANORS DO SO ON THEIR OWN. These people think you are stupid.

Matt nails the specifics: the bill's Dream Act (pp. 162-170) and Dignity Program (pp. 204-217) do grant conditional permanent residency to Dreamers/DACA folks and 7-year deferred removal/work authorization to millions here illegally since ~2020/2021, with fees and checks but no deportation for qualifiers. That clashes hard with Salazar's "no amnesty, no blanket forgiveness" framing—solid read of the text.

🚨WARNING — There are a handful of Republicans in Congress pushing the so-called "Dignity Act of 2025" which would shield illegals from deportation if they've been in the US since before 2021. Here's the trick: We do NOT know when many, or perhaps most, illegals entered the US. All they'd have to do is say the magic words and they'd be allowed to stay. At best their case would be bogged down in court for years. This is a ruse. Do not fall for it. This will grind President Trump's mass deportations to a halt. This is worse than "soft amnesty." This de facto ends the mass deportations Americans just voted for.
