In case you missed it:
This is one of the best video ads I have seen on X this year.
If you want to make money in 2026 learn how to edit videos like this.

@shredwithQpid A possible outcome i can see from this tax stuffs, is that it would only affect people who want to travel abroad later on, and are required to show their tax payments proof

"The X payout is awesome"
I felt like I'm missing out when I started seeing creators farm engagement for money.
But it just didn't feel right.
I don't want people to look at my brand and think "That's the guy who posts memes about video editing".
I want to provide value and I guess that means not cashing out in the short-term.

A lot of editors want to land larger clients. As a YouTuber with over 500k subs, I want to offer some good faith advice on what DOES NOT work.
1) "Hey I've Watched Your Content" -
This is the biggest lie I hear over and over again. And it's blatantly obvious. Because as soon as the conversation continues and I ask BASIC questions about my content, the editor just has no idea what I'm talking about. There's no relationship I'm willing to build with someone who lies. I know other creators feel the same.
2) Insulting Our Content -
I get so many pitches with "your videos are alright but your editing needs work". Maybe this approach works on smaller creators who are insecure about their content. This does not work on larger creators. We have years of proven data and systems that inform our decisions. There's always room for improvement, but any editor showing up with the mentality of "hey your channel's broken and I can fix it" is just an immediate red flag.
3) Using Email Templates -
I often see different people using the same exact email pitch. This is a terrible look. Or worse, I sometimes receive emails where people forget to update the fields in their templates. "Dear [Content Creator], I recently watched [Most Recent Video]".
4) Telling Us to Look At Your Portfolio -
This is creating a homework assignment for us for no reason. Larger content creators are CEOs juggling 100 tasks a day. We don't have the time or the desire to sit down and watch 3-5 videos in a portfolio from a random cold call editor. When reaching out to us, you should have a specific video recommendation for us to check out. One single video. And that video should demonstrate that you have a clear understanding of our channel's style. If you don't currently have anything in your portfolio that matches our channel's style, then consider making a 15-30 second trial edit with old footage of ours.
My goal with this advice isn't to belittle anyone, but rather to provide feedback on what works and what doesn't work. I hope this advice lands on the right ears. Deep respect for anyone trying to pursue a career in the creator economy, and wishing you all the best 😌🙏
