My talk about using Go generics to reduce HTTP handlers boilerplate and ease the pain of RESTFul API creation is already up (which is crazy). I can't repeat enough how the organization, the effort put by all the team and the level of automation is SICK. #fosdem #golang

If you are a data scientist, #AI Engineer, or doing anything with ML/AI models, you need to check out @TerryTangYuan's new book!!! Yuan is one of the smartest people I've had the chance to interact with in the #datascience community, and his ability to architect scalable ML systems is unparalleled. There is a lot to learn here, so pick up a copy!

@antirez @XjqrXjqr Looks to me like specific case of the use of embeddings, like for example you can use one hot for words in your vocabulary, but vector embeddings work better, because similar words are near by, instead very far apart

@XjqrXjqr Imagine you have 4 categories. One-hot coding: 1000, 0100, 0010, 0001 Binary: 00, 01, 10, 11 My proposal (permutation coding): 0101, 1010, 1001, 0110

So this looks interesting. This neural network encoding that I (re?)invented today works a lot better than one-hot encoding and binary coding, in my experiments. Let's restate the idea: You use N inputs per category, and each category if a permutation of 50% ones, 50% zeroes.

This might be my favourite piece of music I’ve made. I sent a different theme idea to @watsoncomedian and he asked for one instead that sounded like the Arctic Monkeys had made it. I used my Gibson and the amps/pedals built into Logic Pro. soundcloud.com/matryer/the-co…

LiteFS started as a way to distribute SQLite geographically but why not distribute databases between services? Building APIs is a PITA so we skipped it and just replicated the database instead. And that opened up some more interesting use cases! fly.io/blog/skip-the-…

HashiCorp's tooling is used to build a ton of esoteric managed products that will never be a direct competitor to HashiCorp. This license change is either not well thought out or they honestly didn't understand how large their community was! There is so much FUD right now.
