Did you miss the 7.30 segment on childcare last night? Children not safe in childcare run by companies about to be sold for a billion dollars. abc.net.au/news/2024-03-0…

@LisaJBryant @LeanneMGibbs3 Online study limits learning. Tutorials are often held at night when energy levels are low and most students keep their screens turned off, both of which hinder discussion. I learn more when I'm in a classroom and can engage in discussion with peers and teachers.

“Most early childhood teachers study online and we still don’t know if this is an effective way of producing early childhood teachers” says @LeanneMGibbs3 .

When Educators protest terms like ‘childcare’, they are boundary riding - protecting the fences surrounding their profession. Inside those fences are the standards for what goes on in early childhood centres, and we absolutely need them fighting to protect those. @JasonClareMP

Fully support the childcare workers strike today. If we can’t support the people who look after babies and tiny children, and offer them adequate pay and conditions, what the F are we even doing?

Early childhood educators are striking today but unlike other workers their issues cannot be resolved in a collective agreement. This is totally unfair. They deserve the right to win agreements that lift their wages across their sector. It’s time for change

Next week is Early Childhood Educators’ Day & a day of action. Changing the narrative to reflect the value of educators' work delivering positive outcomes for children is a small & easy step so we don't need days of action. See our guide to language here: bit.ly/3Q50XUR

"I am tired. I am fed up and I have found myself questioning my future in this industry for the first time." A brutally honest account of an early childhood educator. Please read it! Early educators deserve so much better. #Echobox=1661124642" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">theguardian.com/australia-news… #auspol

I wonder what the 27,000 employees that were underpaid up to $80 million in wage theft (from 2014- 2020) would think about this? thesector.com.au/2022/08/17/g8-…

A lot of people going to the Albanese government’s Jobs and Skills Summit and related events will only be able to go because early childhood Educators are supporting them and taking care of their families on the day. @AlboMP
