That’s not the point. If you have to money to loan to them for 30 years why not buy them the house? The money will be theirs one day anyways. Why not gift it to them when it actually means something to them and can materially improve their lives? Money at 30 with kids in daycare, saving for college, and paying off student loans is much more helpful then when you’re a 65 year old retiree.
