That’s a WRAP on this year’s Water Week! Here’s a recap from us:   ✅Met with distinguished water sector leaders to refresh the agency’s Water Workforce Initiative and connect individuals to jobs in the drinking water and wastewater sectors. ✅Launched PFAS Out Initiative, a new effort reducing exposure to PFOA and PFOS in drinking water. ✅Announced Water Reuse Action Plan (WRAP) 2.0 to advance strategies and technologies that safeguard our nation’s drinking water.   Every day, The Trump EPA is proving we provide clean and safe drinking water while also driving economic growth.

⭐ EPA Employee Spotlight ⭐ Meet Howard Kahan, a Finance Section Chief in @EPAregion9's Tribal Clean Water Section. Howard works to support Tribes in helping manage water grants, facilitate collaboration, and ensure compliance and efficiency in grant management. He’s also part of EPA’s emergency response efforts, deploying to the Maui wildfires, the East Palestine train derailment, and last year to the Los Angeles wildfires – where he worked to complete response efforts in less than 30 days. Most colleagues might not know that Howard was a radio DJ in college at station KCSB. Thank you for making a difference at EPA and beyond!

2.3 MILLION homes in New York City and on Long Island will soon have access to affordable natural gas thanks to President Trump and the new NESE Pipeline. This is a HUGE win for New York, for US energy dominance, and for common sense. Next up: New York needs to urgently get behind Constitution Pipeline so natural gas can also be delivered to MILLIONS of New Englanders as well!

⭐ EPA Employee Spotlight ⭐ Meet Becky Iversen, a Safety Specialist in @eparegion5's Mission Support Division Employee Services Branch. Becky conducts routine field, laboratory, and office inspections across the entire region to ensure workplace hazards are mitigated and safety remains a top priority. She also serves as a safety officer on EPA’s Incident Management Team, responding and deploying to several national emergency responses over the past 10 years, the most recent being the Maui Wildfires in 2023. She’s proud of contributing to an overall reduction in field site incidents by working to strengthen safety practices and reinforce a culture of prevention and awareness. Most colleagues don’t know that, when studying abroad in Australia, Becky did a 440-foot bungee jump in Queenstown, New Zealand. She described it as the most beautiful, exhilarating, and incredible experience. Thank you for making a difference at EPA and beyond!

⭐ EPA Employee Spotlight ⭐ Meet Joel Owen, a Life Scientist in @EPARegion4's Laboratory Services and Applied Science Division. Joel provides technical assistance to Region 4 states and Tribes by conducting environmental sampling and monitoring projects in support of the agency’s mission. He joined the agency as a biologist in the Office of Water’s Standards and Health Protection Division in 2020 and has been with Region 4 since 2022. He’s passionate about applying science to inform how natural resources are managed and protected for the enjoyment and benefit of all people. When not at work, Joel likes to go hiking and birdwatching. Thank you for making a difference at EPA and beyond!

🚨Just announced with @SecKennedy: The Trump EPA is including microplastics and pharmaceuticals as priority contaminants on the agency’s Contaminant Candidate List. We have heard from millions of Americans who are concerned about plastics and pharmaceuticals in drinking water and we are taking action.   Our proposal, now open for public comment, also includes PFAS, disinfection byproducts, 75 individual chemicals, and 9 microbes that may be present in public drinking water systems. Every farmer now has the Right to Repair their own equipment thanks to President Trump. It’s crazy that our talented farmers were being prevented from doing this previously. This announcement is about common sense. Farmers will be able to spend more time in the field and less money in the repair shop because of this important new EPA guidance.

I just signed and announced a nationwide E15 and E10 fuel waiver to fortify U.S. fuel supply. This waiver ensures a robustly available supply of domestic fuel, providing Americans further relief at the pumps, and reducing our reliance on foreign oil.
