Today, @ACFHHS launched “A Home for Every Child Innovation Challenge.”
We will reward states that achieve the highest foster home-to-child ratios and those that deliver the fastest improvement.
The goal is to have more homes waiting for kids — not kids waiting for homes.

Would you knowingly drink a glass of water filled with dangerous pathogens, bacteria, and pollutants?
More than a century ago, water treatment and sewer systems transformed public health and saved countless lives. But we still have not done the same for the indoor air we breathe, where Americans spend roughly 90 percent of their time.
Whether it is a school, office, hospital, or home, we often have no idea if the air around us contains harmful invisible particles that could be affecting our health.
ARPA-H’s BREATHE program is working to change that by building technologies and systems that can monitor indoor air quality, detect potential health threats early, and help make indoor spaces healthier and safer.
On this Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month and beyond, ARPA-H is working to make cleaner indoor air a standard of modern public health.

This National Hospital Week, we recognize the vital role hospitals, health systems, and healthcare workers play in keeping communities healthy. For more than 5,000 hospitals across the country, this week is often marked with staff recognition events where teams pause to celebrate.
As part of the ongoing national response to a hantavirus outbreak on a cruise ship in international waters, the safe return of 18 Americans depended on the expertise and professionalism of two hospital teams standing ready.
The University of Nebraska Medical Center and Emory University Hospital received these passengers returning from overseas, and CDC commends both teams for exemplifying what it means to serve their communities—and their country—in times that demand collaboration and commitment.
From critical access hospitals in rural America to leading academic medical centers, healthcare workers continue to meet extraordinary challenges with resilience, innovation, and compassion while strengthening the communities they serve. #NationalHospitalWeek #WeAreHealthCare @emoryhealthcare @unmc

🤯 Shocking from @DrOzCMS: Hospice fraud is rampant in Los Angeles.
“1/3 of all hospices…in the entire country are in Los Angeles.”
“We believe that at least half of the hospices in the entire area around Los Angeles are fraudulent.”
“800 of those hospices have been suspended…that last year charged the taxpayer $1.4 billion will no longer be paid.”

Great work from @OIGatHHS—nationwide Medicaid fraud audits send a clear message: protect patients, or lose the privilege of federal funding.

Huge MAHA win! We are raising the bar on food safety. Just because a chemical is widely used doesn’t mean it’s safe.
@US_FDA will now continuously review chemicals in our food — and act faster when risks appear.

Marty, you took on entrenched interests, challenged the status quo, and never lost sight of the American people we serve. You pushed forward critical reforms and helped advance our mission to Make America Healthy Again. I’m grateful for your courage and your friendship. Wishing you the very best in your next chapter.
I also want to thank Kyle Diamantas for stepping in as Acting Commissioner — his leadership has already delivered remarkable wins on the MAHA food agenda, and I have full confidence in his continued work. We have an outstanding team at FDA, and the work continues without pause. The search for a new Commissioner is already underway, and we will move forward with urgency.

A cancer diagnosis can mean months of treatment, difficult side effects, and overwhelming costs.
Radiotherapy is a core part of care, but it still falls short for too many patients.
ARPA-H’s 1-CURE program is working to develop a single, rapid, low-cost approach to treat all types of cancer, including metastatic and treatment-resistant disease.
