PROJECT HAIL MARY is almost completely sold out at Universal CityWalk IMAX for the next week. This is a Monday night screening. The last time I witnessed this kind of excitement in a non-franchise picture was with OPPENHEIMER.

I remember thinking at the time that Aronofsky’s The Fountain was using a similar idea. Now that we all know that he pillaged Perfect Blue that wouldn’t be surprising that he did the same here.

So genuinely exhausted of people acting as if I have to love the exact same films for the rest of my life and telling me that it’s wrong that I’ve grown to appreciate different things about the art I engage with. It’s not “contrarian” to expand your film taste.

@DannyDrinksWine Yeah, that’s exactly why Lynch’s movies work imo. There isn’t always an explanation, they don’t exist just to be a metaphor. Most of the time the whole point is the mystery and the unsettling.
His movies aren’t made to be decoded. There are answers but they don’t come easily.
