SipSync is live. 🌊 A 100% offline hydration tracker for iOS. No cloud. No login. No data sent anywhere. Just you, your phone, and more water. Built in EU 🇪🇺 — public beta on TestFlight now: testflight.apple.com/join/m78CY4QD sipsync.eu

@LessonsFromProd Exactly this. There's something almost irrational about not wanting to break a number — and that's the whole point. The rest just has to not get in the way.

that's awesome. Privacy-first health tracking is actually something people care deeply about but rarely find. The streak UI stuff will probably matter more than you think — people get weirdly motivated by seeing that number climb. Good call shipping first though, reminders can wait.

Launch week done. Beta is live on TestFlight. If you want to track your water without handing your data to anyone — give it a try. Link in bio. Next up: better streak UI and smarter reminders. #BuildInPublic

Why did I build SipSync fully offline? Not as a feature. As a constraint. No backend means: → Nothing to breach → Nothing to sell → Nothing to maintain at 3am The limitation became the whole point. #BuildInPublic #OfflineFirst

@naval The tools available today make it so much easier to test ideas quickly and share them with the world. True democratization of creation.

@arvidkahl The speed AI brings to full cycles like tests and security is impressive for solo builders. Shifts the focus from boilerplate to real value. Cool to see in action.

Claude, you'll be done with implementing ALL of these improvements in like 30 minutes, including full test coverage and security analysis. You know it. I know it. Which, as Claude shows pre-AI estimates, is WILD.

@IPS_Infection Practical reminders like a nearby water bottle and water-rich foods keep hydration effortless. Sharing those steps with others multiplies the everyday health benefits.

@arvidkahl @zeeg Spot on. AI handles quick prototypes well but still needs sharp oversight to avoid debt in anything bigger.

The nuance here is “how much for whom.” I find that they excel at greenfield prototypes “a lot for early stage” and small scope features in larger codebases “a little for later stage.” Anything in between is hit or miss, and mostly miss. And either way, they need expert engineering oversight to avoid long-term comprehension debt.

im fully convinced that LLMs are not an actual net productivity boost (today) they remove the barrier to get started, but they create increasingly complex software which does not appear to be maintainable so far, in my situations, they appear to slow down long term velocity

@dvassallo Beautiful indeed. Small bets stacked like this feel like the steadiest path for makers. Low risk, real momentum, one step at a time.

@arvidkahl Claude turning vague feature ideas into full prototypes feels like pure magic. Indie devs are moving faster than ever with tools like that.

People acting like "Hey Claude Code, implement this feature I dreamt of just now and have no idea how to even start building" and then prototyping a fully-fledged working implementation isn't anything short of magic.

Are you guys aware I am coding mostly on my phone now all day via Termius to Claude Code on my server while I go with gf to the dentist, clothing store, cafe, etc. 😛✌️

@levelsio "You" ➡️ IP your Internet provider assigns you; not your servers IPs. If you had a static IP I'd like to know why you prefer Tailscale over just adding e.g. your company IP to the firewalls SSH whitelist.

Most health apps aren't really health apps. They're data collection businesses with a wellness UI. Your sleep, weight, cycle, hydration — packaged and sold. The app being free is the tell. Build for people, not pipelines. #PrivacyFirst
