Setting aside that those figures are likely false and include untrained conscripts, it's a country of almost 100 million, the 17th largest by land in the world, about the size of Alaska, so yes, in the context of an aerial assault across the whole area, it's limited. They are going to have to make choices about how to respond, and because we have superior intelligence, we have good chance of knowing what those choices will be, and can hit them there. While one can certainly raise good points about the rhetoric Trump uses, I am not a fan of it myself in many cases, claiming that we've committed war crimes before they have happened because of social media posts as many appear to be doing, strikes me as ignoring the obvious. You are of course free to disagree, but when the war crimes do not happen as some are claiming, as I do not believe they will, what then?

I don’t see any way to interpret President Trump's "prediction" that "a whole civilization will die tonight" as other than a threat to order the military to commit crimes against civilians. If he issues such an order, it will be the duty of military leaders to refuse to comply.

@McCormickProf Naaaah, it simply couldn't be that the purpose is not threats, but confusion. By threatening to attack everything, he's forcing them to defend a large territory with limited manpower and munitions. It has to be a war crime rather than War 101.

Withdrawal from NATO doesn't mean the US will no longer help our allies. It means we won't be obligated to help allies that have refused to help the US.
