@isabelleboemeke I need two posts to clarify. First regarding trees, if a tree dies, falls to the ground and rots, its' carbon is returning to the environment anyway. So I see no harm in burning it for electricity. 1/

Even if you don’t believe climate change to be an issue, from an air pollution standpoint alone coal is really bad.
Same with burning wood, aka biomass, which is considered a “renewable” source of energy.
