There is a kind of intelligence that doesn't show up on IQ tests.
Most intelligence, as we measure and celebrate it, is intra-frame. You're given a game with rules, and you figure out how to win. The SAT is a game. "Get promoted to partner" is a game. "Publish papers in high-impact journals" is a game. Smart people are people who are good at games.
But meta-strategic intelligence operates at a different level. It's the intelligence that looks at the game itself and asks: "Is this game worth playing? Is winning this game actually correlated with the outcomes I care about? Or is everyone just playing it because it's the game that's here?"

President Trump granted a full pardon to Jewish nursing home operator Joseph Schwartz after he served just three months of a three-year sentence for a nearly $39 million fraud scheme.
Federal prosecutors said that Schwartz refused to pay payroll taxes that had been withheld from employees’ wages across 11 states.
Schwartz reportedly paid $960,000 to lobbyists Jack Burkman and Jacob Wohl to secure the pardon from the White House.

This isn’t a small deal. Restaurant Depot is where most mom & pop restaurants go to buy inventory because Sysco is so expensive.
Restaurant Depot was privately owned. Sysco is owned by… you guessed it, BlackRock & Vanguard.
Now private equity can control pricing for food costs with zero competition. Just like they did with housing.
This should be an anti-trust violation, but we have politicians that work for Big Corp, not us.

Iryna Zarutska was brutally stabbed to death by a repeat offender.
Her mural now faces destruction on the wall of The Dark Lady in downtown Providence.
Mayor Brett Smiley is demanding it be torn down, calling it “divisive.”
If this had happened to me, a lifelong Rhode Islander born and raised right here, would they rip my mural down too, just because I’m not a Democrat?
For years Rhode Island has been pushing to disarm women and endanger their lives, but the same type of career criminal that killed Iryna isn't going to stop hurting people just because of a law.

A nearly-complete mural of slain Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska in Providence is being removed after Jewish Mayor Brett Smiley called for it to be taken down.
“The murder of the individual depicted in this mural was a devastating tragedy, but the misguided, isolating intent of those funding murals like the one across the county is divisive and does not represent Providence,” said Smiley.
