If @POTUS is ruling out the use of nuclear weapons, he or the @VP should say so. Otherwise hyperbolic rants about destroying an entire civilization will be interpreted as a veiled threat to use nuclear weapons. The WH comms during this war has been amateur to say the least.

Trump is full of bluster, but leaders of nuclear-armed states cannot, must not, threaten the end of "a whole civilization" even if they naively think a veiled n-threat is an effective negotiating ploy. Its not. It is unacceptable, and following through would be massive war crime.

What are they waiting for...? As trump himself said, "when crazy people have nuclear weapons, bad things happen."
