Education is better because he shared his gifts. May he be our inspiration this year, when we need creativity more than ever.

@AmazonHelp I haven't had an update in quite some time on the solution. I am getting notifications to log in and confirm that I still want the order, but I can't log in. Please help! We really need these materials for kids!

Dear educator friends/Edtech brands, if you are a fan of a white “Edtech influencer” who has been silent while still pushing their brand or if they are showing performative support while also muting & stealing space from black voices, you are complicit in your support of them.

Shepard says “[teachers] will need a theory of motivation and a sense of how to develop a classroom culture with learning at its center.” Many teachers/districts now focus on culture/community in the classroom. That will hopefully lay the groundwork for future change. #CEP813

What an amazing time to be teaching #CEP813 electronic assessment for #MAET - I am already inspired by the connections students are making (to ideas and to one another). Plus I get to teach with the BEST @csloan

@p0s8u And this is the other side of my previous question! Such a complex issue, thanks for giving us all more to think about.

That’s what happens when you’re in a performance ensemble - it’s all about making sure a piece is ready for a performance. But should it? Shouldn’t student growth be the object? I think a sometimes music teachers lose sight of that fact. But I digress. Back to Shephard. #CEP813

Wow! - “...dominant theories of the past continue to operate as the default frameworks affecting and driving current practices and perspectives.” So true! Even 20 years after the article is written. Teachers can’t teach - or assess! - the way they were taught/assessed. #cep813

@p0s8u I think there is often a lot we can all learn from the way arts educators assess in an ongoing, natural way. Is if the authentic, real life audience “performance assessment” that maybe makes it seem more obvious?

Assessment should be done throughout the learning process - yes! Just like I don’t wait for the concert to tell a student they’re playing notes/rhythms/tempos, etc., wrong! Can you imagine what a concert would sound like?! #CEP813

#WeAreD34 and we are sending smiles to front-line heroes and those in need. Kindergarteners sent letters and artwork to cancer patients who aren't able to have visitors. #D34forOthers
