‘Can we get kites to play with Miss Scott?’ We made our own, collected sticks from our Outdoor Classroom and set to work! All child lead, lots of problem solving and creativity! 🪁 #raigystars #itsneverjustplay

This afternoon @RaigmorePS we started with 6 blank pieces of paper, 4 children and lots of imagination! Excitement grew we had 10 children FULLY engaged in this particular activity. We only stopped for home time! #childled #playinp1 #emergingliteracy

Marguerite Hunter Blair says #moreplayplease. All play is good for children. Most importantly, play supports children's wellbeing and helps them learn how to learn. So in the summer holidays and beyond - more play for the children please! #moreplayplease #playfulschools

45 minutes.... Remember that magical number. 10 minutes of free play is not a play based approach.
James McTaggart@JamesEdPsych

Listening to @Grace_Haines_ talking about play approaches in early primary The importance of extended periods of play "Something magical happens after about 45 minutes - you need to trust the process" Setting up the spaces in a way that shows play is valued
