Ten years ago today, England voted to remove Scotland from the EU. 96% of Scotland's MPs had requested that all UK nations should agree before #Brexit was carried. The Tories, with 1 Scottish MP, overruled this request. Brexit was a UK vote because England decided it would be.

Exactly, it’s not the rich from England who are traveling over, like Scotland it’s the working classes who have either spent all their savings or gone in to massive debt to come other and enjoy the World Cup yet in America and this is how they weee treated. It’s 2026 not 1770. Should I as an Englishman carry hatred towards the Italians, French or Norwegians for something that happened to England 000s of years ago.
There are people alive in England today who don’t have a parent due to the sacrifice made standing by your side when you were attacked in 2001 yet xenophobia comes to the fore for something that happened 250 years ago for which no one alive today has any control. As someone who was born and raised in Boston, where the history was pounded into every child. This isn't light hearted funny.
The Boston Massacre permanently damaged relations between Great Britain and the colonies in 1770. The next years ahead, the 13 colonies would succeed breaking away from England. In 1775, the shot heard around the world in Lexington would forever change our history.

Factually not true, the English are the ones who are hard done by. Certain/most laws are devolved to the Scottish parliament but Scottish mps, even though the legislation has no impact on Scotland or its constituents get to vote on laws which effect the English only. So Infact, your point is actually the wrong way round.

I'm a friend of Ireland and the Irish but this is nothing more than the type of fucking stereotyping bullshit that you, Larry, should know better than to parrot.
The English caused no issues in Boston nor wanted to so to suggest otherwise, like stereotyping the Irish or Scots or Welsh without good reason is, frankly, wrong.
I've been to both England games with both attended by up to 50,000 England fans, and to a man and woman they've done zero wrong.
Being a proud Irishman need not make you an anti Englishman for the sake of it.

The Irish and huge diaspora Boston community have righteous and legitimate loathing of "Englishness" in a historical context. So let's get that straight.
But in 2026 that doesn't wash. Not forgetting historic wrongs is one thing, taking them into future generations is another, and what I've basically seen is diaspora Boston influencers, journalists and official apparatus indulge in anti Englishness almost as a right of passage rather than being called out for what it is.
Xenophobia.
Anti another culture, ethnicity or people's for its own sake is xenophobia. So let's call it what it is, whoever does it.
My culture is English and Afro Caribbean. Both deserve basic respect on meeting me as does anyone else's when meeting them.

Most churches are empty bar a few 80-90 years olds still hanging about & Rugby is probably the main secondary school sport

English fans or myself personally do not care if Scottish fans chant about England, we expect it as it’s part of the British culture so I’m not sure what you’re on about tbh. I know it wasn't during the World Cup and I was just on my own, but when I went to Boston a few weeks ago I experienced nothing but friendliness from the people there.
This honestly all feels very performative to me and just a very vocal minority.
