@FootballRamble You can’t say there was a minute left. The reason 30 more seconds would sometimes be added on for a goal is to account for the celebration time of the goal. So at best there would still only be 30 seconds.

@Mist0017 @RChris1872 The invention of a 100th minute VAR penalty the previous match, and the fact the game was clearly ended as the result of a pitch invasion that couldn't be dispersed and they later came out with some shout about "the ref informed us he'd in fact ended the game". Corrupt AF.

I genuinely don’t know how Scottish Football can recover from this btw The SFA and Celtic have literally cheated to rob Hearts of one of the best achievements in Football History in front of the entirety of Europe The SPFL and Celtic’s credibility and integrity is 100% gone

@IainMerc @talkSPORT When Celtic fans invade the pitch after winning the league with the last kick of the ball it is called thuggery. When every smaller club do the same after winning cups or gaining promotion it is called fairytale stuff. We should not have gone on the pitch, but no harm done

Listening to Martin O’ Neill on @talkSPORT there failing to call out the thugs on the pitch, scenes of violence in Glasgow and, instead, deflecting away to the Old Firm match and that pitch invasion. 10/10 for whataboutery. Poor and classless 🤔.

@StanCollymore If not for VAR Celtic might have lost the league yesterday. A shocking offside flag was overturned which won the game for us. We always focus on the bad decisions and completely ignore stuff like that.

VAR I enthusiastically welcomed it. Was sold on the higher percentage of right decisions so we could all go home knowing football justice had been done and we could concentrate on which player was crap instead. But I was wrong. Woefully and completely wrong. Waiting 5 minutes for a decision to be made alone means the system isn't fit for purpose. Why? Because I sat with TV producers who said everything would be wrapped up in 10-30 seconds. It has literally taken the spontaneous joy from the most important part of the game. A goal. Then, one thing completely blindsided me and many others. Subjectivity. I thought there would be science and a nailed on guarantee of a successfully and universally accepted decision. How wrong we were. Instead, arbitrary lines are drawn that simply can't with any certainty say whether a player is offside or not. So a human in a portacabin, 200 miles away only does what the referee can do, make a best guess. Likewise handballs, dives, any penalty decision to be honest. A subjective decision decided out of stadium allowing an increasingly small and poor refereeing pool a get out of jail free card. Instead of them making a shit decision and owning it, they just pass it on 200 miles away so 3 men in a portacabin can make a shit decision instead. Lunacy. For the love of the game, let's go back to investing in getting more referees, respecting them so that they join the trade and don't feel constantly abused. In short, treat them like rugby referees. Ultimate respect. Then, fuck VAR off, it's ruined the game, made it petty and chaotic, and taken that one ingredient that you simply can't replace, instantaneous joy. As a player and fan I accepted a referee making a bad decision in a game in the same way I accepted fucking up a shot or pass. We're all human. Let's get back to that, humans doing their best, everyone walks away from the ground accepting that and less unrealistic pressure put on officials to be perfect when perfection doesn't exist in any walk of life. VAR stinks. A system designed to help is a massive hindrance and it's about time pundits, fans, players, referees, clubs put pressure on authorities to get rid of it. We only need goal line tech, the rest can and should be refer refereed by humans making their best judgement. A best judgement that was over 98% right( audited fact pre VAR). Enough is enough, fuck it off.

The football authorities in Scotland cannot turn a blind eye to the pitch invasion during the Celtic v Hearts game. If they do, it would set a dangerous precedent where no punishment is given to a club with fans invading the pitch and causing the game to finish early.

Scottish football lost today. Celtic could not have won the league without the dodgy VAR decision v Motherwell. Hearts gave their all, defeated the Old Firm five times & Derek McInnes was magnificent. But what chance have non-Old Firm challengers got with such Old Firm biases?

@Footballtweet No it didnt. Yes the pass went someone onside, but, then the player offside at the time of the pass goes and scores - he gained an advantage from being offside at that point, which was about 3 seconds before scoring!!

@RJDemon1 @EwenDCameron Every single fixture list in every single league on the planet prioritises alternating between home and away games before every other decision. Going into the split, of the three teams competing Celtic were the only one that had 3 home and 2 away games left to play.

🏆 Celtic v Hearts Today we should be at Tynecastle for the final day of the season but instead we head to Celtic Park for a title showdown. If we win the league it will be up there with one of the greatest sporting achievements of all time. When you have the likes of the Wall Street Journal, with its 22 million followers, writing about us then you know we’ve done something quite remarkable. No matter the outcome today I will be outside Tynecastle waiting on the boys to return from Glasgow. Thank you Derek and the team for everything. It has been an unbelievable season and this is only the beginning. ♥️

@Empire1872 The one thing that I am struggling to understand is we can all see from every angle, video and photo that his hand was covering his forehead. So is everyone who said that he headed it saying that he headed with hand on his head, or that the ball magically passed through his hand?

@GrahamSpiers I agree that we got very lucky, but only because at real speed it’s not absolutely clear and obvious. I think that the interpretation of “clear and obvious” is the biggest issue we have with VAR. However when slowed down it was 100% the correct decision, so worked out well.

I have to say: I note quite a number of sane, cerebral, fair-minded Celtic fans - the absolute non-zealots - saying tonight: “My God…we got lucky with that decision.” That’s an unclear, debatable, pretty dubious penalty award which might end up handing Celtic the title.

As someone who grew up (aged six-twelve) a Rangers fan, desperate for Hearts to win the league, there's nothing controversial about VAR giving Celtic a penalty for this. It's a penalty.

@ChrisFM2501 @markturnerII @EwanMacKenna It comes off the heel of the hand (it’s literally in the video 🤣) while the hand is in contact with the head. It would absolutely travel like that in those circumstances

@markturnerII @EwanMacKenna There’s no chance the ball travels like that off a hand. Lot of people kidding themselves on slowing things down and taking snap shots. Beaton took one look at it at normal speed and gave the penalty. Corrupt.

I hate Arsenal, irrationally, as I explained at weekend. But my argument over VAR with them and West Ham was largely goal was given, and about 20 Arsenal fouls in box were ignored at same time. And that's me being irrational. In Scotland, I get desperation for Hearts to win. In on it. But that Motherwell handball against Celtic is not only clearest you'll see, but also involved another foul in same action, as in elbowing a guy in head. The reaction is mental. What do people want VAR to do here 😂😂😂

@MStewart0013 @EwanMacKenna @Callum_TH If Trusty pushes it upwards (he doesn’t by the way, the hand is on the head before Trusty jumps) then it’s because of the two handed shove in the back of Trusty by the other defender

@EwanMacKenna @Callum_TH The Motherwell player's hands start level and the left hand only get to head height because Trusty's shoulder pushes it upwards. And the hand was in front of the defender's head. And the one video angle is inconclusive for 'clear and obvious' error. 🚮
