Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir:
“Lebanon, all of Lebanon, should become our playground. ALL OF LEBANON should be our TARGET.
And they tell me, "Wait a second, there is Lebanon and there is Hezbollah."
I do not accept this artificial approach.”
And he adds: "Let a thousand Lebanese mothers weep, and not one Israeli mother weep."

And for those of us who are disabled, it's been made even more dangerous.
Our toilets are now gender inclusive spaces, meaning anyone can go in. And nobody has thought this through.
Because, as I posted the other day, the local leisure centre has 9 male toilets and 9 female dry side and more poolside. There is one disabled toilet in the entire building, which has now been redesignated a gender neutral changing room.
A disabled friend waited over an hour to use the only toilet she can use, in the building, which is a stand alone structure, at least 1 mile from the next building with disabled toilets and her children were in swimming lessons, in the pool, so she couldn't leave anyway.
I'm also disabled and have had the door opened from the outside four times, since redesignation, because disabled toilets have to be easily opened from them outside in case of accident or injury. But, people are now trying to "catch" trans people in these spaces.
So, it's terrifying for us too.
And my friend with a stoma now won't use the disabled toilet at all, because she's been called trans this week. And she also needs it, but her issues are less visible.
I don't have a practical answer. I don't know where these people are supposed to go. I don't want to sound rude or intolerant, but the current solutions to all of these issues seem to leave everyone feeling unsafe and angry, a large portion of us are also more vulnerable to assault now.

One of those things that never happens if you open up women's changing rooms to any man who wants to come inside has happened. Again.

@SamanthaTaghoy Let’s not forget this either - he thinks women are not entitled to single sex spaces

Since Andy Burnham wants to be the next Labour leader, here’s a reminder:
Andy accused victims of Pakistani-Muslim grooming gangs of trying to “propagandise” the issue.
He tried to block the grooming gangs inquiry in Manchester and nationally.
He claimed that Pakistani-Muslims grooming gangs are a “thing of the past” despite clear evidence that little girls are still being victimised to this day, including in his local area.
And what does he call the LITTLE GIRLS who were raped under his watch?
Not children.
Not little girls.
“Young women.”
Even on the most basic level, Burnham tried to shift the blame onto victims and refused to acknowledge that they were children.
Countless little girls were raped, exploited and even murdered by Pakistani-Muslim grooming gangs, while powerful men like him turned a blind eye.
Andy Burnham belongs in prison, not Parliament.
And certainly not in 10 Downing Street.

🕊️ Before Zionism, this is how Jerusalem actually was.
A Christian grandmother born in the city explains how Muslims, Jews, and Christians lived together as equals no second-class citizens, no checkpoints, no occupation.
Then 1948 came.
Zionist forces attacked Arab residential areas.
Her family was forced out.
Like ~98% of the Christian residents of West Jerusalem.
She ends with the line that hits hardest:
“Our homeland is gone…”
This is the history they work overtime to erase.
Watch every second.
Then ask yourself why this testimony is buried while the opposite narrative is amplified everywhere.

On June 5th Israel attacked the home of world famous Lebanese sea turtle conservationist Mona Khalil. Mona was hospitalized with burns and injuries to over 70% of her body.
Yesterday, June 19th, Mona died from her injuries.
This wasn’t an accident. They didn’t make a mistake. Mona’s home was also where she ran her sea turtle conservatory- which she aptly named the Orange House Project- because, after all, her house was painted top to bottom in a deep, bright orange, the color of a late summer sunset.
The Orange House Project has been in operation for almost 30 years. You can find it on Facebook and Google Maps, along with dozens of reviews from visitors over the years.
So no, it wasn’t an accident or a mistake. Israel knew exactly what it was doing when it bombed the Orange House Project on June 5th.
It’s exactly what they’ve been doing since the war with Iran started: ethnically cleansing all of Southern Lebanon so they can steal the land and occupy it for themselves.

Families crowd to fill containers from a water line running beside a pile of rubbish and overflowing sewage. In a displacement camp known as al-Sham in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, people crowd around midnight as this is the only water that reaches them, municipal water unfit for drinking, salty and possibly contaminated, delivered each night at around twelve.
There is no clean water at all, the displaced there say, pointing the camera at the waste rising and spilling over right where people are forced to collect what they drink. The scene is part of the daily reality for Palestinians pushed into overcrowded tent camps under the genocide, where the Israeli occupation's destruction of water and sanitation systems has left the displaced choosingm between thirst and water that can sicken them.

Allow me to correct a few things.
First, "Israel" is not some vulnerable state that emerged organically in the region. It is a settler colonial project established under British patronage and sustained for decades by unprecedented Western political, military, and financial support, enabling nearly eight decades of occupation, displacement, war and ethnic cleansing, which evetually resulted in a Gaza genocide.
Second, if we're talking about a "tiny country that has spent decades facing enemies committed to its destruction," that description fits Lebanon far better than the Israeli entity. Lebanon has endured repeated invasions, occupations, massacres, bombardments, assassinations, and territorial violations at the hands of a heavily armed military power. The evidence is not hypothetical; it is documented in photographs, videos, UN reports, and historical records.
And here is the question that supporters of "Israel" never seem willing to answer:
If "Israel" has the right to treat the protection of its citizens as its highest obligation, why does the Resistance in Jabal Amel not have the same right to protect the people of South Lebanon, especially when the Lebanese state historically lacked the means to defend them from repeated invasions and occupation?
Look at the map.
Who invaded whom?
Who crossed internationally recognized borders?
Who bombed villages, cities, schools, hospitals, and civilian infrastructure?
Who advanced tens of kilometers into whose territory?
And for what purpose?
The irony is that we are constantly asked to understand Israel's "security concerns" while being told to ignore Lebanon's lived experience of invasion, occupation, and destruction.
A population defending its land from a foreign military incursion is not the anomaly in this story. The anomaly is expecting them not to resist.

The Grayzone's Max Blumenthal visits the Wall of Tears in Dearborn, Michigan
This heart-rending visual display memorializes the over 18,500 children killed by the Israeli military in the besieged Gaza Strip between October 7, 2023 and July 2025
Blumenthal reads the names and ages of several of these children, and places their lives in the broader context of Gaza's occupation, siege and genocide at the hands of the state of Israel

@DrPepperTexan @alon_mizrahi You are right of course nothing happens in a vacuum & so it is with Gaza. Here is a short synopsis of its history with Israel. When I read that article I looked into it more and discovered the politics of Zionism. I lost every admiration I had for Israel

Well, if every single day you faced the prospect of rockets, missiles, drones, and terrorists trying to kill you, and these threats were all coming from one group, I rather suspect you’d feel the same way. Nothing happens in a vacuum.
I’m still waiting for someone to explain to me why what Ben Gvir said is so horrible, but what Hamas and Hezbollah said in their charters about killing every Jew in Israel is OK. I suspect I’ll be waiting a long time…..
