@KlaesOPA @LFC_Franklin01 I get the stakes are higher for poorer kids from poorer countries. It’s just weird to use that as a hammer to pound on Wirtz because he was born in Germany and Liverpool paid a big transfer fee

@KlaesOPA @LFC_Franklin01 Sadio chose to leave his village, where his Father was an important Imam, to pursue his dream. And that’s beautiful. I’m so glad the modern world allows that chance. That also happens in Germany. Poor kid, has to uproot his life and his family to get to shot at an academy.

Wirtz came through the German system. Mane and Salah had to sacrifice everything and leave Africa to just get a chance at a lower level European club to prove their worth. Do not compare them to protect a failed mega signing
Melvin wood@liverpaul66

Wirtz is 22. For comparison, our best left and right sided players in the last 30 plus years were either warming benches or in/at second tier leagues and clubs . Ekitike 23, with about 50 starts before he came here

@KlaesOPA @LFC_Franklin01 There’s millions of kids who get tossed aside because they were deemed not good enough in academy programs all over the world including Britain and Germany. That’s the trenches. That’s the same. Maybe you’re arguing Wirtz had better fallback career options in Germany?

@HendrickD82 @Xenceee It’s odd that when players get loaned to a different country or the championship the excuse is: ‘they need lots of game time and tons of repetition building skills’. But with Rio it's ‘we have to protect him’. Rio’s taking an important roster spot and no Gakpo alternative

@Xenceee Disagree on Rio. Think he should play the rest of the way but I'm glad we haven't overplayed him.

Teams having Olise, Barcola, Kvara, Doué, Yamal. While we’re stuck with Gakpo and we wasted a year of Rio development. Sad.

@NotoriousLFC Nah. The same was said about the likes of Matheus Cunha and Lenny Yoro going to Utd. or any of hundreds of recent Chelsea signings going to an already overloaded roster…. Turns out players just really really like lots of money and don’t worry about ascetics as much.

If you think Olise would leave this Bayern side to come and work for Arne Slot after watching Liverpool this season you need to seek help. All the money in the world wouldn't make him sign on for Slotball.

@nik8000 Context: contemplating if I’d still want Slot fired if the seasons were switched. Nuance: yes, but only because I dislike Slot’s coaching philosophy because I think football should be exciting. I understand fans who just want to win at any cost but I’m not one of them…

If you swapped our seasons now. Not a single person would be calling for slots head. Funny old game.

@Shane83080407 @KM_243_ Klopp had bad seasons… but it was never boring. Slot’s basic argument is that if you continuously recycle possession the other team can’t score and eventually you’ll win more games. So win by tedium. Sound fun yet? Wanna give up beautiful Autumn days sat watching side passes?

Another reason Slot needs to be sacked is not only for our horrible performances on the field but also because the energy is so so down…. Like he’s genuinely taking people their love away for the game…

@HendrickD82 @AFC_GLEN We played the group stage hoping to get such schedule by coming first. Others should have done the same. Stop using it to taunt us.

@OneSGW So Slot had Liverpool start in a low block because PSG had a week off? Isak had three months off. By your calculations he should’ve been MOTM.

Not a single fan or member of the media has even mentioned PSG having a week off before last night. We played on Saturday and had a tough game. It’s mad how these things are mentioned because it doesn’t suit the narrative at times!

There will be a lot of hypocrisy when Wirtz is the pivotal part of a flowing team.

Michael Olise would be the absolute dream signing this summer, but what rational reason would he have for choosing a move to us right now?

@ipostanythingLF Why wait? Two obvious facts about Isak: He demanded his transfer, got it, and then showed up completely out of shape for the season- nowhere near game ready. Slot needed to build the team tactics to accommodate a player like Isak- everything had to focus on getting him the ball.

@jodyndaniels Thing is, given enough time Slot can absolutely get his controlled possession style of play working at LFC. I just don’t want to watch CityJr. Pep already perfected what Slot is trying to replicate. It’s boring and suffocating and ruins what I loved most about watching Liverpool

Inconvenient truth... Klopp put everything in place for Slot to win that Premier League ... The more Slot introduced his tactics and style of play at lfc... the worse performances got, increased losses, mismanaged players

@davidlynchlfc Simple analysis of the PSG tie: Liverpool were easy to break down defensively and at the same time Liverpool could not break down PSG and get quality shots on goal. Only Salah was able to deliver repeated quality chances for his teammates. But Slot didn’t want Salah on the pitch

After defeat to PSG, Arne Slot suggested Liverpool have had a problem with underperforming their xG this season. But the numbers show they don’t generate enough great shots, and that doesn’t feel like an issue Alexander Isak can solve alone. davidlynchlfc.co.uk/p/why-liverpoo…

Let's check in on Eduardo, who is failing to be petroleum. Eduardo is a Huacaya alpaca in the Brecon Beacons. His fleece this year measured 22 microns. For reference, cashmere is typically 14 to 19 microns and is priced accordingly. Eduardo's fleece is finer than most commercial wool, warmer at equivalent weight, and does not require the lanolin scouring that sheep's wool needs before processing. Eduardo produced it by grazing a Welsh hillside on rainfall and rough upland vegetation. The fleece is removed once a year. Eduardo stands with the specific patience of an animal that has done this before and found it resolves pleasantly. The fibre goes to a mill. The mill produces yarn. The yarn becomes a garment that will last twenty years with basic care. The polyester fleece currently in approximately 60 percent of outdoor and casual garments sold in the UK: Crude oil is extracted from geological storage where it has been for roughly 300 million years. It is transported to a cracking facility. The naphtha fraction is polymerised into polyethylene terephthalate at high temperature and pressure. The PET is extruded into filament, texturised, knitted or woven, dyed in a water-intensive process using synthetic dyes, then shipped, typically from East Asia, to a retailer near you. Each wash of this garment releases an estimated 700,000 synthetic microfibres into the wastewater system. Water treatment facilities do not filter microfibres effectively. They pass through. They reach waterways. They enter the food chain. Microplastics have been found in human blood, in lung tissue, in breast milk, and in the placentas of unborn children. The research into their effects is ongoing. The effects are not yet fully understood. The production continues. Eduardo sheds nothing into the water table. Eduardo sheds fleece. The fleece becomes a garment. The garment does not shed microplastics. The garment will outlast every conversation about whether it is sustainable. Eduardo is grazing the Brecon Beacons. Eduardo has not been invited to a sustainable fashion conference. Eduardo would hum. The conference would not know what to do with the hum.
