@OriginalOLAJ Everyone in the league will have the same pre season! That’s the point! Last year Liverpool didn’t have one but everyone else had one after a summer off. Chelsea fell off a cliff without a real break!

Lots of questions about Konate’s situation & understandably so But consider the fact 2 lads were leaving who have been here 9 years & been inducted as legends. Their send offs are optically more important than announcing a new deal. Once again, we don’t need to know everything!

This journo is right, fans have made up that the players are on holiday all the time (which they aren’t), that Slot doesn’t do anything for the city, or academy (how do you know that) and all other lies that come with it.

@SherekhanKlopp @StePlunk @peter_bolster Oh yes but they will build success with a plan. Edwards appointed Hughes from a position where he’d been at Liverpool 10 years before his short spell away. They brought back 3 more including Ward too (who will take over Hughes naturally).

@OneSGW @StePlunk @peter_bolster It varies from club to club. Milan are sacking all of these folk, because they've repeatedly cratered the club. Their situation is wildly different to Liverpool's. So the requirement as a result is also wildly different.

They aren’t the first club to succeed with this model and they won’t be the last to fall off when they fail to replace as well. Europe will be rough for them as it was Brighton. Two games a week and all the travelling is a different ball game to rest, train & play.

Iraola has done a magnificent job – and so has Bournemouth’s recruitment department. Kroupi and Scott the latest gems being polished. Senesi, a £12m signing from Feyenoord four years ago, leaves a free agent to Spurs with plenty of good wishes following his fine defensive service over 128 games. Bournemouth get good value out of players and/or good value for them. Well-run club. Pity that Iraola is leaving and missing out on the European adventure that he helped secure. Leaves team in good shape for incoming Rose. Coaches and players...it's all in the succession planning. #AFCB

Klopp also got Diaz, Trent, Jota, Bobby back fit for the last 10 games. That was massive This year we just had more injuries We also went further in the FA Cup & CL The seasons are comparable but we’ve been better than 22/23 for longer this year than 22/23 was better than this

In the 2022/23 season under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool finished 5th on 67 Points, 4 points off 4th with 71 points. This season under Arne Slot, Liverpool finished 5th on 60 Points, 5 points off 4th with 65 points. The difference is 5th wasn’t a Champions League spot under Klopp, and 60 points is the lowest a team has finished on to secure Champions League football in history. We’re very, very lucky.

There needs to be more consideration for what we have available “to put a show on”. Dyche said it the other day, count the goals in your team. It’s actually not rocket science. Our front 3 since the Palace game has been weak and lacked pace, directness, quality & numbers.

Last few seasons have been crazy, Klopp went, we signed no impactful players that summer who had an impact, then we lose a player tragically, have a huge squad overhaul, no preseason & suffer loads of injuries. But we win the league & get CL - it’s insane we managed to do that!

We finished 5th. That alone means it’s impossible to be 2/10. Add in all of the insane circumstances this season has faced, it makes it even harder. Honestly you just type shite! It’s frightening!

We got 60 points. We lost 20 games. We got 1 away win against teams in the top half. We didn’t win a trophy. We couldn’t beat Burnley, Tudor’s Spurs or Forest at home. United did the double over us. We lost 4-1 to PSV at home. Need we go on? Explain how 2/10 is unfair. We’re all ears.

Found it genuinely sad at Anfield yesterday that Slot didn’t feel comfortable joining the lap of honour with the players because of the fear that our own fans would jeer or boo him. Imagine creating that kind of atmosphere around your own manager after everything this squad has dealt with this season. What have we become?
