@pl_european To be fair at the moment there are Iranian missiles raining on Israel so it's a bit dangerous to gather and celebrate.

Macron, Meloni, representatives of the German, Polish, Portuguese and many more governments are criticising Israel for not allowing the Latin Patriarch, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, to enter the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to hold the Palm Sunday ceremony.

@oroborous The third picture looks absolutely terrible. I still don't understand people who see unfinished interiors and go like "yeah this crusty concrete looks good".

Apparently the main campus of the University of Luxembourg is built into a decomissioned steel mill. They turned the old coke storage into a library, built a restaurant into the blast furnace and retain the old storage facility (the "Möllerei") as a museum. Need to visit one day!

🇮🇹 🤝 🇺🇸 Faith. Family. Freedom. These immortal values — together with the bold legacy of Italy’s great navigators and the classical model of Ancient Rome — create an unbreakable bond between the United States and Italy. Senator @MennuniLavinia (Fratelli d’Italia) powerfully reminds us of this shared heritage at the Machiavelli-@Heritage conference “Alliance in Transition: Pathways to a Renewed Transatlantic Partnership.”

Over the past 25 years, Germany has pursued an energy transition by phasing out nuclear power and expanding solar and wind—at a cost of around €500 billion in subsidies. The result: installed capacity has more than doubled, yet electricity generation has declined. The reason is structural. Reliable, dispatchable power was replaced by weather-dependent sources. The consequences are severe: rising energy costs, falling competitiveness, and growing pressure on energy-intensive industries. The key question remains: How do you run an industrial economy on a system that produces less when it matters most?

@eurochallenges Yeah they probably knew and they will do it again in the future, in fact losing the money or weapons isn't even the biggest issue here. The real problem is our leaders being so hell-bent to the USA to the point of self humiliation.

The most annoying aspect of our reaction to the US diversion of European-paid weapons for Ukraine to its own reserves is that we knew this could happen… CNN reported on this last year. Just google „Colby Memo“. We can’t keep acting clueless and get surprised when we get screwed.

@PawlowskiMario Switzerland ordered some Tomahawks years ago. Now the US said they can't deliver them. So Switzerland said then we won't pay. The US have now seized the funds we paid for the F-35s (which we probably won't get as well) instead. srf.ch/news/schweiz/z…

Spanish girl gets brutally gang-raped by migrants, ends up paralyzed and developing severe PTSD. The Spanish government offers her assisted suicide as a solution to all of those problems. IDK if that counts as a metaphor because they're doing it literally.

At Université Paris Nanterre 🇫🇷, during the “Village de l’égalité” (Equality Week), Jewish students set up a table to raise awareness about antisemitism. They were suddenly surrounded, mobbed, and assaulted by a Free Palestine crowd. Because apparently, even in spaces meant for equality, talking about antisemitism is enough to get Jews attacked. The irony is hard to miss.

@eurochallenges I'm biased here because I did my Erasmus in Istanbul and I can say a very large parte of the population there is culturally very close to euromediterranean people. The rest of the country isn't though and is currently dominating the political scene.

Yeah, you’re the only one. We’re barely capable of agreeing on anything, any decision takes ages, but sure, let’s add a country of 85M people with a very different culture and in denial of the last genocide they committed because??? Bigger market makes line go up? Let’s grow up.

The horseshoe theory is amply demonstrated by Russia. If you go far enough left or right in European politics, you ultimately arrive at the same point: Echoing Kremlin propaganda, opposing defense spending, and compromising your country’s security in favor of Moscow
