I am proud to be English - always have been, always will be. On St George’s Day, and every other day. Never let anyone tell you that pride in our England is shameful, or something to hide. So why is it that others can celebrate who they are with no guilt, no apologies, no fear? Yet the English are silenced - patronised and insulted, despite everything that we’ve given to this world. I am tired of it. We are all tired of it. So now is the time for English men and women to finally stand up for themselves. To stand up for our history, our culture, our people, our very special way of life. Our home. Because if we don’t, and very soon, then we are all going to lose far more than a debate. We will lose everything. I think of how our country is going to look, feel and be in 50 years, even 10 years, and it fills me with a looming dread. It is not too late to change it, but that point is already recklessly close. We must now fight for the England we wish to pass on to our children and grandchildren. Because patriotism is simply a sense of stewardship, that's how I feel it. The belief that what we inherited matters. And that we have a duty to leave it stronger, safer, wealthier and more prosperous than how we found it. That’s the England I want to pass on. But always remember - the English like to leave it late. We’ve done it before and we’ll do it again. We will Restore Britain, and we will Restore England.

Right. A suggestion. If you are looking for a domestic getaway this summer, I am reinforcing my firm recommendation of Great Yarmouth. Gorleston, Caister, Hemsby, Hopton, Winterton, Burgh Castle and more too. Right across my constituency we are blessed with incredible scenery, so much to do for children and just generally a really welcoming atmosphere. There's the amazing aquarium, theme parks, beaches - the children will not get bored. It's not too far from London, but far enough. It is proper England. And yes, it is affordable. Good value hotels, food is priced well and pints are A LOT cheaper. I would thoroughly recommend a visit, even for a few days.

I must admit, I do worry about the kosher ban policy. I’ll seek clarity on it, but such a measure risks causing hundreds of thousands of Jewish Britons to leave the country almost overnight. This is not what our movement should be about.
