Think about what that menu looks like in plain English: – Flooding the country with lies about “fraud” before a single vote is counted – Trying to get control of voting machines and election administration – Looking for excuses to call out troops under the Insurrection Act to intimidate and suppress Luttig warns that if we don’t defend the system in 2026, we may not get anything resembling a real election in 2028. In other words: this is not a normal midterm. It’s a stress test of whether we still have a functioning democracy at all.

The DOJ just indicted the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that has spent more than half a century fighting the Klan, tracking hate, and defending civil rights. Let's be clear about what's happening. This administration is using the full weight of federal prosecution to target an organization whose mission is rooting out violent extremism. This is part and parcel of Trump's assault on free speech, on nonprofits, and on anyone who dares to disagree with him. First it was lawfare against political opponents. Then it was revoking the tax status of universities. Now it's a federal indictment against one of the most historic civil rights organizations in America. The SPLC has saved lives. It will not be silenced — and neither will we.

There is no excuse you can make for Trump at this point. He lies about everything, every day. He uses his position to enrich himself and his family. He takes bribes and admires authoritarian regimes. He destroyed a good economy, ruined the US world standing, and has empowered our adversaries. He blames everyone else for the problems he creates and digs further into the messes he makes instead of admitting his mistakes. Trump is a massive failure. Even Marjorie Taylor Greene, Tucker Carlson, and Alex Jones, the most conspiracy-loving, devout Trump followers, have separated themselves from him. So what does that make people who still believe Trump's lies, still support and defend him, even as America crumbles around him?

Trump told you he’d run America like a business. He is. It’s called asset stripping. You sell the profitable pieces, gut the workforce, load it with debt, and walk away rich while everyone else holds the bag. Congratulations. You didn’t elect a president. You hired a liquidator.

Jared Kushner is getting rich off the same foreign governments he is now negotiating with on behalf of the United States. His day job is running Affinity Partners, a $6.1 billion investment fund where 99 percent of the money comes from foreign investors, most of it from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. These are the exact same governments he is negotiating with on matters of war and peace. Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund alone put $2 billion into Kushner’s firm after he left the first Trump White House. Now he is back at the table, shaping American foreign policy, while reportedly in talks to raise billions more from the same Saudi government. Because Kushner calls himself a volunteer rather than an employee, he is exempt from the financial disclosure laws every other senior official must follow. There’s no transparency, accountability, or way for you to know whose interests he is actually serving. American foreign policy should serve American families, not a private investment fund. When the people negotiating in your name are collecting fees from foreign governments on the other side of the table, you pay the price in higher gas prices, longer wars, and decisions made in rooms you will never see.  Your government belongs to you. Funny how our stalwart conservative leaders see no pressing need to conserve the indissolubility of marriage and the family -- the nucleus of the conservative society they claim to be defending.
