@lundpix @CommanderRedEXE @BearBoyd924 @TheReelRandom The other, of course, is that teaching the Bible in schools is very like establishment of religion, esp. in that it is presented in a privileged position alongside US founding documents. As I mentioned, the new Sup. has canceled the project. 2/2

I taught American Government for decades. Separation of church and state is about as basic as you get. It’s not just the 1st Amendment that makes this clear. Article VI, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution prohibits any religious test as a qualification for federal office or public trust. That’s also a clear separation between religious belief and your right to serve in elected office. My high school juniors understood this, but a sitting Senator doesn’t?

@acroce66 @ATRightMovies L is magnificent and I'm glad I saw it, but R is a better time. BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI might be better than either of them, though.

In 1990, Spy Magazine sent out checks with increasingly smaller amounts disguised as refunds to some of the richest people in New York as a social experiment, eventually sending one for 13 cents. Only two people cashed the 13 cent check: a Saudi arms dealer and Donald J. Trump.

@sbmcks I replied because we have a day we celebrate for a man surnamed King. So we have a King’s day. You have seen my mistakes. A bot would not likely make those. Peace to you.

@ArtCandee @Acyn Democrats claim they don’t want wide open border while trying to literally stop all immigration control.

Ansari: I just signed the discharge petition that separates ICE funding from the rest of DHS so we can ensure hard-working Americans who work at TSA get paid. We just need a couple of Republicans to sign on to force a vote. We need to do this immediately. Republicans need to grow a backbone and stand up to Trump.

@AlCappuccinoIT I was prepared to hate the show because I love the book, and still may never get through it all. But its bigger cast lets it show how naturally and easily US citizens had gotten on board. That seems on point.

In “The Man in the High Castle,” a series that ran in 2015 for 4 seasons in which the Axis powers were shown to have won WWII, the Nazis destroy American history and blow up the Statue of Liberty, and it’s like MAGA used it as a blueprint for when they took power in this country.

@lundpix Apparently, the joke is on me. I saw the post of mine you replied to, and it was about No Kings' Day, not MLK Day. Beginning to wonder if you are a bot.

@lundpix Allegations against Chavez are specific and from named victims, one of them (Dolores Huerta) a close associate and two who were then minors. The King claims appear to all come from surveillance by agents whose director (Hoover) was strongly motivated to discredit him. <?>

@lundpix @CommanderRedEXE @BearBoyd924 @TheReelRandom Sorry, I was insufficiently specific - no fault of yours. My speculation was about altering the US Constitution, not the King James Bible. The pre-Trump edition had already altered the Constitution by removing all but the first ten amendments, to no great uproar.

See. You helped me. Thanks. Xi Jinping. Of course since we lack the ability to easily type the tone marks, we will have to pretend that we know how to say it. There is a group who believe in the supernatural preservation of the text of the New Testament. Not unlike the magical beliefs of Islam for the preservation of the text of the Quran. The Christians who believe in that follow what is known as the Textus Receptus (TR). In that type of church, the table in front of the church will be inscribed with 1611 along with what may be written “Do this in remembrance of me.” And King James Version. Often certain groups of Baptists. (I was raised Baptist and my mom is still a baptist, so back off.) Lower textual criticism is the field in view here, not numerology. The text of the Bible marketed by Trump has been poured over with millions of eyes by now. Those folks care about the text. To my knowledge that Bible is not heavy on commentary. As a boy raised in dispensational churches, many folks carried the Schofield reference Bible. (Oxford University Press, if I recall) During my childhood the publisher released the new Schofield reference Bible. A few words were changed because the meanings of those words had shifted over the four hundred years. Lots of uproar. Lots of scrutiny. If the text of the KJV in the Bible from Trump were changed, I am sure we would have heard.

@sandrajaniga @JessicaTarlov Try to keep up. Thune says that he has negotiated a deal - that means that the 60 vote threshold is irrelevant. Only one vote has ever mattered to Congressional Rs.

@lundpix @CommanderRedEXE @BearBoyd924 @TheReelRandom CCP is widely reported to exercise close discretionary control over speech and publications inside .cn. What an opportunity it would be to subtly alter texts being marketed under the name of .us's once and future king. 2/2

Mark Levin: "[On] the murder of our friend Charlie Kirk…what do you think happened there?" Joe Kent: "What I know is that there were foreign leads that we didn't get the chance to look into, that we did not thoroughly investigate." Levin: "You have a country in mind?" Kent: "No. I think we need to fully investigate the potential of any foreign nexus." Levin: "So you think a foreign country may have been involved in his assassination? Does the FBI think that?" Kent: "What I think is that we need to thoroughly investigate all the potentials…I just can't get into it because it's classified… What I saw at the National Counterterrorism Center, that was not thoroughly looked into."
