@Andersonj2273 @StephenRuhe There's a way to do it and pay the driver more. Setups like this usually increase service levels. Customers get the same drivers in every week. They pay more. Everyone's happy.

If you're looking to run your truck your own way but dont want to deal with the back office nonsense or your own authority. Hit me up. No forced dispatch, 100% transparent, best fuel card on the market and you get paid weekly. You can run customer freight or build your own business with brokers and shippers.

How is Landstar dodging all this bad press? They double brokered freight constantly... did something change?

🚨⚡️ @elonmusk This case is bigger than OpenAI. A win for the defendants tells every nonprofit donor in America: your money can be taken, restructured, and monetized once it’s in the door. Nonprofits live on trust in mission and intent. Green-light this looting and charitable giving freezes across every sector — faith, education, health, environment. Civil society’s voluntary foundation is on trial. Precedent matters. Integrity matters. Truth over inversion. Praying for justice rooted in original intent. 🔥✝️

Interesting how it works Elon puts up his own money, rounds up the absolute best AI talent on the planet, leverages every connection he has to secure serious resources, and launches OpenAI in 2015 as a pure non-profit explicitly created to develop AI for the benefit of humanity, with zero profit motive and open research Then the “team” decides they want the bag They push Elon out, take control, and quietly flip the entire thing into a for-profit machine All while preaching the same sanctimonious lines on repeat: “We’re still mission-driven!” “AI for the good of humanity!” “We’d never abandon our principles!” The ultimate betrayal: Elon got zero equity. Not a single share. He funded it. He built the foundation. He got nothing while they turned his non-profit into their personal cash cow This is the level of betrayal and hypocrisy we’re dealing with And for the record.... this lawsuit doesn’t put a single penny in Elon’s pocket. Any win goes straight back to the non-profit to restore the exact mission he founded
OpenAI Newsroom@OpenAINewsroom

We can't wait to make our case in court where both the truth and the law are on our side. This lawsuit has always been a baseless and jealous bid to derail a competitor. We'll also finally have the chance to question Mr. Musk under oath before a jury of Californians about this attempt to undermine our work to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity.

The Iran War is cutting vital fertilizer flows: Gulf urea production is down to ~160,000 tons per week, hitting another new low of the year. Urea is the world's most widely used nitrogen fertilizer and a crucial input for growing staple crops including corn, wheat, and rice. Gulf urea production has fallen ~60% since the start of the Iran War. Furthermore, only 11 fertilizer ships have transited the Strait of Hormuz since the war began, with 44 vessels carrying fertilizer still stuck inside the Gulf and nearly half of them loaded with urea. Producers are also running out of storage space, raising the risk that manufacturers will be forced to shut down entirely. The Middle East accounts for ~45% of global urea trade, supplying major agricultural importers including India, Europe, and Brazil. Global food inflation is set to accelerate.

@freight_Dogs International strategy. Some holistic approach we'll never hear about. How else do we pay for military bases overseas.

I moved one shipment in my life of LTL but does the price change depending on the commodity? Having a debate with someone, and maybe I was told wrong.

@freight_Dogs @kidfreight I havent checked yet, I can't imagine John A Rogers not knowing commodity matters. LDI would have educated him. Some brokers do operate on FAK agreements with LTL carriers. Maybe thats why. An FAK broker will never be the best LTL solution though.

@kidfreight LTL is priced based on weight, dimensions, and cargo risk. Cargo risk affects frequency of insurance claims. A pallet of firewood is far less risky than a pallet of computer servers. You are going to pay a lot more to move those computer servers LTL...unless you hide info.

Truck Parking Club is taking over truck stops. Once free parking, they are taking advantage of truck drivers and milking them for a they’re worth. Should we care?

Pretty cool to go from making a freight podcast on a $200 laptop with a $15 mic in 2017 to what we’ve built and who we get to talk to now (while my 1 month old napped and I tried to figure out what to do after losing a job at a 3PL) Thank you, all.
