The Ukrainian government is actively depriving its citizens of their right to vote, refusing to hold elections, and allowing Volodymyr Zelensky to maintain his grip on power without the public’s support. Talk about an attack on democracy. A report emerged on Wednesday saying Zelensky was considering ending his dictatorial reign and holding an election within the next three months. This was welcome news for anyone who believes in representation. But it was too good to be true.  Zelensky last night rejected the claim that he is planning to end his tyrannical suspension of elections, instead saying he will only embrace democracy once he secures security guarantees and a ceasefire with Russia. "We will move to elections when all the necessary security guarantees are in place," the Ukrainian leader told reporters. "I have said it's very simple to do: establish a ceasefire, and there will be elections.” The West’s Ukraine support is the only reason this conflict is still going, and Western leaders love Zelensky because they know he’s their puppet. They want him to maintain power. They want their ATM to continue spitting out cash. American dollars! That means, by refusing to hold elections, Zelensky incentivizes his allies to keep funding his war and avoid a peace deal by any means necessary. More blood is great for their political aims.
