@GCAJoeA This is fantastic. I’ve had so much fun playing a retro 1950’s set occasionally in the last couple of years, and I hope to get into hickories someday.

The game of golf takes us on a path of twists and turns through our lives. Various stages if you will. My Scottish journey finally began last year and with it came a couple memberships, new friendships, a deeper historical passion, and a wanting to be closer to the beginnings. After plenty of research, talking with experts on the subject, and thoughtful planning, I made the decision to enter the hickory club arena. The time frame I chose was the 1890-1920 era.
I’ve assembled a very authentic first set and one that hickory players will appreciate and know. A set of Tom Stewart St Andrews irons, a Jack White, driving brassie, and a Harry Vardon baffy. Thrilled to have found these and will be a nice start for my first play set and collection. Bobby Jones used Stewart irons and Jack White woods during his career. This specific brassie is what he used to win the grand slam and is on display in the UK. The irons are pretty close to the models he used.
Have already met some great folks in the hickory world and have joined a couple societies. When Keith Foster was restoring Lakewood CC, I remember him telling me that what he did would make it a spectacular hickory playing course. Cannot wait to get these and get started. Taking them to Scotland will be the next stage. And it will happen.

Yeah but you have to be. Three straight western finals, all the standouts playing well and role players (Hryckowian and borque) playing exceedingly above expectations. Will be a war but you expect to win. Sat. will come ill be worried and then you just gotta hope.
Real analysis, I think Minnesota doesnt have enough depth down the center or a goalie thats been there and done that.

Newest member of #gogogreys. Cue all the bloodstock agents living in their mom’s basement screaming for more meatloaf right now saying I overpaid. Yeah no shit I overpaid. Every horse at these sales are overpriced and make no sense. I’m not in it to make money. I love the horses, love watching them grow up and all of it. You can’t take the money with you when you die. If I listened to Brad and Liz on when to stop bidding I’d have zero horses. This is my hobby. Grey horses and dishing tea on the beach.

@AlCimaglia Is this a pseudo cost saving? Like Danny being in charge, rather than a team President?

Not sure now, and some players always trained on their own. BUT back 10-15 years ago they received detailed workout plans for the summer. They needed to comply and report back. Training was specific to their needs. My question is summer training should have always been stressed especially with a very young group. But the Hawks cut ties with the Paul Goodman and until now I haven't heard much about summer training. Bedard's workout regiment involves fitness but much of what he was doing was skills building.

@AlCimaglia Feels like a symptom of “the new league” where the development has to happen outside of the season (shouts to Belfry for being the tip of that spear). I also have to assume Bedard’s development after last summer is playing into “the art of the possible” here.
