1. Truth is not perceivable through time 2. Truth doesn't exist when self is there 3. Truth cannot be perceived as long as thought moves in any direction 4. Truth is something that cannot be measured, it is neither static nor non-static 5. Without love, without passion, with it's own intellect, Truth cannot be perceived – K, when asked to put into words what can't be put into words

@caryatis What's the term where people have a vested interest in convincing everyone else to do something they've done to normalize it and make themselves feel better about their own choices?

That’s it, I’m coming out in favor of boob jobs. Think about it: you do ONE THING in your youth and you can dramatically increase your attractiveness for the rest of your life. It’s ~5-10k, cheap and safe for plastic surgery. And, while every other beauty thing we do requires ongoing effort—I work out every day, I do shit to my hair and skin every day—this is one and done and never worry about it again. It’s like the IUD of beauty. (Also, you can get away with being fatter if you have breasts: your waist will look slimmer by comparison.) If you're young and slim, congratulations, you're probably already attractive, but there's obvious low-hanging fruit you're not picking

In 2003, after a thorough study of the Mahabharata, Giampaolo Thomasetti began work on a large-scale project dedicated to it. After 12 years, he completed his collection of over 20 majestic paintings depicting the main moments of this great spiritual epic. 👇

@sujayko @TheEmissaryCo I've been underwhelmed by every single Indian restaurant I've been to in London. I was told that the Indian food in London is better than in Delhi and Mumbai. I don't have a single data point that corroborates that so far.

My favorite Indian restaurants in London: –Gymkhana: Upscale Indian at its best, signature British-Indian –Quilon: South Indian fine dining, traditional technique yet unique delivery –Tangra: Indo-Chinese but elevated, vibrant street-style flavor –The Tamil Prince: The classic British pub meets definitive South Indian flair

@lauracincera In the collective west, matter and thought reins supreme. That which can't be put in a rational framework will either be bastardized and commodified or demonized.

Classical (non-dual shaiva) tantra is about so much more than sex. Tantra is awareness of the pure radiant essence of reality. It is feeling the grass under your feet, the wind kissing your cheeks. It is your heart breaking at the state of the world, and feeling that fully. Interesting how neo-tantra (and many other contemporary forms of 'spirituality) flatten and commodify away actual wisdom practices.

Quite unserious to pressume quoted texts are "just tantrik manuals". It reeks ignorance, à la bandar kya jaane adrak ka swaad. Even more unserious to conflate the 6 main darshanas and commentaries on darshanas with philosophy. The later stresses on beliefs and thought. The former on coming face to to face with reality for oneself. The later leans towards provable/disprovable objectivity. The former rejects everything but incontrovertible subjective experience. Any comparisons between the two is moot point. Philosophies give you a sense of groundedness (albeit transient). A darshan frees you absolutely, all forms of reaching stop. Furthermore, highest wisdom is to realize all darshanas originate from and converge at the same point. And that any contradiction is limitation of the thoughts and beliefs imposed on the unripe mind that is yet to come face to face with truth. Thirumanthiram, Sat Chakra Nirupana, Saundarya Lahiri, Siddha Siddhant Paddhati, Yoga Vasishta just to name a few allude to this.

@arya_amsha The oldest form of Shaivism is the one based on Pashupata Agams, it emerged and developed in Western India, Gujarat, Sindh, and North western Maharashtra. It later gave birth to the Shaiva Siddhant and other Shaiva sects.

Apart from Kashmir, most other regions where Shaivism-Shaktism were prominent never developed a high philosophy integrated with logic, rituals, metaphysics and ontology. The Shaivism-Shaktism of Punjab, Himachal, Bengal etc is very “folk pagan religion” tier. (Nothing wrong with it per se)
