One of the patterns I noticed in those spaces was that that the better the art was and the more confidence the artist spoke with, the less time they would speak with that person before moving to the next. The worse the art was and the more anxious & scattered the artist was, the longer they would spend talking about how great the art was and offering them opportunities. Kinda always seemed backwards to me

I remember nft influencers in 2021 saying if they didn't hear you speak in spaces then they would never collect your art. Then make you wait 2 hours in spaces to speak, once you did they talked over you then moved to the next person.

If OpenSea fails that'd be an incredibly bad thing for anyone who legitimately cares about NFTs in any form. When you take risks in unexplored fields you're going to make mistakes. Starting a small company & building it into something really big require very different skills.

@techkeyz Who's to blame then? I'm not talking people selling 70 $ and they literally can't do anything else that find a job. I'm talking about artists that have sold 100k + $.

There are artists whose work I genuinely love, but I have zero respect for the move of making hundreds of thousands in this market and then disappearing, even removing their links so no one can find their work anymore. What a shame.

NFT artists, please be aware; Important to note from their Terms of Use; 1. Exclusive digital rights granted to the platform 2. Three-year lock-in 3. Platform can sublicense the art 4. Artist revenue unsecured if company fails 5. Payments can be withheld 6. Limited liability for the platform 7. Centralized control over resale and distribution On Sedition the platform typically controls: •number of editions •pricing •release structure •resale activation This is very different from blockchain minting. Collectors cannot freely trade the works. Resales typically happen only inside the platform marketplace, and sometimes only after an edition sells out. Implications: •collectors cannot move assets to other markets •liquidity is controlled by the platform •price discovery is limited. This reduces one of the core benefits of NFTs: open secondary markets. NFT systems are typically artist-controlled and protocol-based, while Sedition is platform-controlled and contract-based.

Superrare is going to be so flooded with applications and new artists. Its traffic will go through the roof as all the artists check to see who and what made it through the gates. It will look like its booming but like in 2020 it will just be artists looking at artists. We still have almost no collectors in this community compared to 4 years ago. All those finance chads flipping NFTs and grinding WLs have pivoted to the AI bubble. Theyve bought a mac mini and are trying to work out what to do with it now that it lies all the time. But at least its got artists back on the timeline.

can an autonomous agent be an artist, and if so, will it be able to replace all those pesky artists with free will so we can finally have art that collectors really dig and looks good on an airport terminal, with a bigger profit margin?

I’ve seen tons of artists wishing for @SuperRare to shut down recently. Like counting down the days until it happens. Are people really that bitter they want to burn it all down? By all means, criticize them all you want, it’s far from perfect, but it’s in the digital art communities best interest for them to succeed. You might not like to hear that or disagree but it’s the truth. Besides they are 10x better at communication now compared to a few years ago
