@Liz_ORiordan 2016 was my worst year. Mum passed away on 6th May unexpectedly in hospital. Dad was in another hospital as he was the one who’d been poorly. On 2nd July he died too, he’d been moved to same hospital mum was in. Ultimately he died of a broken heart. My world fell apart that year

This was mum on her birthday in 2022 I’d make her a cake and got her a balloon and a rosette She said that no-one had ever thrown her a birthday party before - and yes that killed me Three days later she opened a cafe door and broke her right arm She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma that had spread to her hip bone and her lungs She had her arm amputated and started palliative chemo She died less than six months after her diagnosis Dad died two years later. He hung on for as long as he could. I still can’t remember her before she got cancer Grief hurts Therapy helps. I’m an ambassador for @goodgrieftrust who have helped me along the way I’m a patron for @bcrt as rare cancers need more I’m currently on a train to Cardiff for @theeverywomanfestival BUT if anyone reading this is struggling to come to terms with loss, I will light a candle for you when I get home
