Posted a property on Magicbricks a few days ago. Got a call from Magicbricks number (flagged as spam) — “Prashanth” claimed to be a buyer. Background noise sounded like a call centre. When I asked if he works for Magicbricks, he denied it, said he’s an individual, wanted to buy property. Refused to share his personal number. Said he’ll text. Never did. 2 hours later, Magicbricks called saying a buyer is interested — but I need to buy a subscription to access the details. This is how fake demand is created to push users into paid plans.
