@DioLarmguy well yeah, the reviews are untrustworthy at face value because there will often be these groups making it untrustworthy, i agree with both of you, you are both saying the same thing

@weirdfish34 Not exactly. His point was that user reviews as a concept untrustworthy. My point is that he left out that it is a very distinct subset of users with a known pattern who are acting this way, and if you ignore them (which Steam gives you the tools to do) the reviews are fine.

Because Steam user reviews are not really reviews in the traditional sense. Instead, they're used as a bargaining chip to communicate real time grievances with game updates, bugs, and developer choices at the expense of a game's actual overall quality and reputation. This is one of the many reasons why I don't trust user reviews and scores.
