@TIDAL has anyone else reported strange effects on the sound when streaming? Me and a friend are both experiencing a strange repeating of sound on this album, particularly around inner voices: tidal.com/track/4325177

@seatsixtyone slightly odd one perhaps, but I had a dream that high speed sleeper trains were a thing, connecting Paris and Berlin or perhaps even further - Paris to naples? Is there a reason this couldn't be a thing in the future?
@willblake88@EdGambleComedy Meanwhile, I live in Australia 🇦🇺 and all I’m getting is adverts on Off Menu telling me Ed’s got no immediate plans to visit Austria 🇦🇹 and to not worry about it.
"Now conductors have two orchestras and a theater? Three theaters and an orchestra? That is… Well, let’s not say that it’s immoral. But certainly, it is not artistic. In this way, I am of the old school."
Riccardo Muti on the modern conductor.

“Sporting Lisbon”, “Athletic Bilbao”, “Zenit St Petersburg”…”Arsenal London”? A look at the curious practice of adding city names onto foreign club names - the inconsistency, the tautology and the sheer geographical inaccuracy.

To recap: in the last few days, the BBC have
Bollocked Gary Lineker and told him to step down from MOTD
Said nothing to or about Fiona Bruce for whitewashing DV (and lying)
Shelved David Attenborough for caring about the countryside
@lottebettsdean@stuart_macrae Of course it isn't a silver bullet, but there are more jobs and they are often better paid. It's worth asking how long that will last, but when the situation in the UK is as dire as it is, it's worth exploring, no?
@stuart_macrae Moving abroad is not the solution everyone thinks it is. For several reasons, many European countries’ music industries will not be willing or able to support UK musicians in the way they need. They usually hire their own first, it has always been thus and it won’t change.
If you come to the UK illegally:
➡️ You can’t claim asylum
➡️ You can’t benefit from our modern slavery protections
➡️ You can’t make spurious human rights claims
➡️ You can’t stay
Capitalism and consumerism are both killing and immiserating us.
We need to imagine a "new kind of abundance" based on public (not private) wealth, care, and ecology. theguardian.com/environment/20…
@Komaniecki_R@_MikeBishop The correct meaning should also be the first definition cited. This is what happens with the definition of 'literally' for example.
@willblake88@EquityUK Thank you! Is it actually beneficial to join though, if the companies don't pay the Equity rates? Or do they have to? Just puzzled over the whole thing...
Absolutely bonkers that in the middle of a cost of living crisis the chairman of the Conservative Party is found to have fleeced the country out of *multiple millions of pounds* in tax and it's a minor news story on a par with veganuary
