When I talk to more established startups, one of the first things I want to know, after asking about the growth rate and whether they're profitable, is whether the founders still have board control. I'm more optimistic about the company when the answer is yes.

I’ve been critical of @PeterAttiaMD in the past (on issues about which we were both probably wrong, btw). While I don’t agree with everything, it is a very good read, and will help many people, including me. The last chapter is especially gutsy and important. Kudos, Peter.

@lizgiorgi I have taken a company from $10 to $100M and at the time I asked myself this question, this book had just come out and I recall enjoying it -- it's dated now& the company I was running was a tech-services business: amazon.com/No-Mans-Land-C…

I would love to read more about the journey from $10M in revenue to $100M in revenue. Not just because that's the zone we are in at soona, but because it feels like it's not written about much. Anyone have some good reads on this topic they would recommend?

@heylizelle a very young, very skilled and tragic tree well death here in Vail this season - it's the biggest in and out-of-bounds hazard. ski with a buddy.

@lizgiorgi having non-biased, peer-like outlets are huge -- makes things less lonely and "knowing others are in the same boat" some how makes the tough shit feel more manageable

The single best thing you can do as a founder is build friendships with other founders at similar stages who you can go to. This weekend, I had one real talk about talent issues. One real talk about a tough negotiation. And one real talk about exhaustion. It saves my sanity.

Had my first baby and reached "reading glasses required at night" stage within the same year. Talk about geriatric mother. lol.

@DanielPink not as easy to read as your work @DanielPink - but classic of course-- "A Whole New Mind" has been on my short list since you wrote it "turning point" reads... need a 2023 version -- in the works?

Each Friday I’ll be posting a book that has mattered to me — along with a one-sentence description. We begin with FLOW by the late, great Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. #WeekendReads #BookInASentence

But an f-bomb doesn’t always stand alone in this show, right? If it did, then we wouldn’t have gems like “Little Lord F---leroy.” So here’s a breakdown of the show’s f-bomb variations:

@yodeets Agreed. Reinvention is an underdiscussed and overlooked tool. I've had to 'reinvent' myself several times throughout my career. And am so thankful I figured out how to early on.

Imagine being the best in the world at something. Spending all of your time perfecting your craft. Then, in your 30s, have to walk away. Start fresh and be a 'beginner' at something completely different. Welcome to being an elite athlete. It's why retirement is often a struggle
